A CATV/MoCA(cable television/Multimedia over Coax Alliance)signal distribution system includes a first 2-way hybrid splitter for receiving a CATV input signal and splitting it into first and second CATV output signals, a second 2-way hybrid splitter for receiving the second CATV output signal and splitting it into third and fourth CATV output signals, with the latter being connected to a CATV output port. A first diplex filter is receptive of the first CATV output signal, and MoCA signals for providing electrical isolation therebetween and connecting them to a modem port. A second diplex filter is receptive of the third CATV output signal and MoCA signals for providing electrical isolation therebetween and connecting them to a Gateway port. A resistive splitter is connected between the first and second diplex filters and a plurality of individual MoCA signal ports for providing bidirectional MoCA signal flow therebetween.

MoCA gateway splitter

A CATV/MoCA signal distribution system includes a first 2-way hybrid splitter for receiving a CATV input signal and splitting it into first and second CATV output signals, a second 2-way hybrid splitter for receiving the second CATV output signal and splitting it into third and fourth CATV output signals, with the latter being connected to a CATV output port. A first diplex filter is receptive of the first CATV output signal, and MoCA signals for providing electrical isolation therebetween and connecting them to a modem port. A second diplex filter is receptive of the third CATV output signal and MoCA signals for providing electrical isolation therebetween and connecting them to a Gateway port. A resistive splitter is connected between the first and second diplex filters and a plurality of individual MoCA signal ports for providing bidirectional MoCA signal flow therebetween.

In a grounded electrically conductive housing for an electrical device, common electrically conductive connection points for one or more components connected thereto to be protected from harmful voltage surges, are provided with a spark gap formed between the connection points and ground, via either electrically conductive surge rods, electrode chips, or eyelets for conducting the voltage surges across the spark gap to ground thereby protecting the associated components from damage due to a voltage surge.

Methods and devices for protecting CATV circuits from combination and ring waves

A faceplate is configured for covering a wall opening providing access to electrical signal cables. The faceplate itself has an opening leading into the wall opening, and a pair of mounting holes above and below the opening. A cover housing is formed to secure an electrical device within a cavity thereof. The faceplate and cover housing are adapted to provide for the latter being removably secured to the front of the faceplate, after the electrical device is connected to at least one of the signal cables. The cover housing is configured to permit a user to connect a signal cable to the electrical device, and signal cables from the wall opening thereto.

A device mounting apparatus includes a mounting base portion having a plurality of opposing pairs of rails. The mounting base portion is adapted for mounting on a support structure. The apparatus further includes a mounting tab affixed to a device for snap in mounting between a pair of rails, whereby the device is captively retained on the mounting base portion, and can be disengaged therefrom by snapping the mounting tabs out of the associated pairs of rails.

Methods and apparatus for mounting devices

A passive directional coupler is receptive of VoIP, Internet, and video/data signals, and is used in a CATV amplifier device to couple the video/data signals from a cable drop input port to the input terminal of an amplifier, and to passively bypass the VoIP and Internet signals to a modem port, for insuring continuous connection of the VoIP and Internet signals to the a modem of a user connected to the modem port, regardless of the loss of power to the amplifier or the failure of the amplifier, in one embodiment of the invention. In another embodiment, a switching circuit is responsive to the loss of power to the amplifier, for electrically connecting a 75 ohm resistor between a source of reference potential, and the common connection between the directional coupler and the amplifier, for maintaining a 75 ohm impedance at the directional coupler output to the common connection. In a preferred embodiment, the switching circuit also opens the common connection between the directional coupler and amplifier, upon the loss of power to the amplifier.

Constant input port impedance for CATV amplifier with passive modem port

A power inserter module includes an FIC male first port for a direct connection without use of cable to a female F-type output port of a DC source of power, an F-type female second port for connection to an RF amplifier to provide DC power thereto and receive RF signals therefrom, an F-type female connector third port for delivering the RF signals to a subscriber, and an electrical circuit for both connecting DC power from the first port to the second port while blocking RF signals from the first port, and connecting RF signals from the second port to the third port while blocking DC power from the latter.

Power inserter module

A signal input port of a reverse amplifier is provided by an FIC connector, for direct connection to an F-port output of a forward amplifier, thereby eliminating the need for jumper cables. Also, via this connection, the reverse amplifier remotely provides power to the forward amplifier.

Cable television reverse amplifier

An optical to RF interface connector has a cellular housing that has a back most portion configured for press fitting into a hole of the housing of an electro-optical apparatus, with the hole and back most portion of the shell being key to one another to insure proper orientation of the connector. The press fitting is further configured for providing both an RF seal, and moisture seal. The frontmost portion of the connector shell is configured for securely coupling to an optical interface male connector that is attached to an end of a fiber optic cable. The innermost portion of a connector shell is further configured for receiving and retaining therein either a auto detector or light detecting device for converting optical signals received from the fiber optic cable into electrical signals for processing, or is light transmitting device for converting electrical signals into optical signals for transmission over the associated fiber optic cable. A light mark is provided between within the connector shell between the light detecting transmitting device and a optical fiber terminating end of the male connector for permitting the passage of optical signals therebetween. The back most portion of the connecter shell is further configured for receiving the light detecting or transmitting device in an augmentation associated with the key position of the back most portion of press fit into the electro optical apparatus housing, for insuring that electrical leads of the light transmitting or light receiving device do not interfere with one another in being connected either to a printed circuit board or other termination within the housing of the associated apparatus.
