Methods and systems for facilitating placement of a small cell in a network are provided. A small cell may be positioned such that it is communicatively coupled to a macro cell to provide a relay backhaul to a wireless network. The small cell may be configured to provide feedback of some form when the small cell is moved from a suitable location, to facilitate desired placement and use of the small cell. The feedback may be in the form of a change in functionality of the one or more feedback components.

Methods and systems for facilitating placement of a small cell in a network are provided. The small cell may be configured to provide feedback of some form when the small cell is moved from a suitable location, to facilitate desired placement and use of the small cell. The feedback may be in the form of reduced or changed operation of a speaker.

Methods and systems for facilitating placement of a small cell in a network are provided. The feedback may be in the form of reduced or changed operation of an associated device, such as a fan, a speaker, and/or a sign, or in the form of one or more communications over the network.

Methods and media are provided for offering telecommunications features to wireless devices through the use of a wireless exchange unit. The wireless exchange unit serves as an access point onto a larger wireless telecommunications network through use of a high-speed internet connection. The wireless exchange unit includes an access point base transceiver station (BTS) and an integrated application server. The integrated application server includes a session proxy, a home application server, and a voice application server. The wireless devices can access features such as, among other things, reduced-digit dialing, call rollover, and alternate message notification. For connections between devices local to the wireless exchange unit, the larger telecommunications network resources need not be utilized, therefore reducing congestion and improving performance. If used in conjunction with a network application server on the larger telecommunications network, the enhanced features can be offered to associated wireless devices when the devices are not local to the wireless exchange unit through access at another point of the telecommunications network.

Enhancing wireless telecommunications services on-site

Caller ID information directed to a user's mobile phone is delivered to the user's home television set for viewing. A determination is made as to whether the mobile phone is within a home zone associated with the user. The determining is performed at a network element within a mobile communications network that provides carrier service to the mobile phone. A presence indication is stored in a database indicating whether the mobile phone is within the home zone associated with the user. When the mobile phone is within the home zone, and based on a user authorization to provide to a video provider information associated with calls, then, for a call to the mobile phone, sending a calling phone identification and a mobile phone destination number to the video provider for insertion of the calling phone identification into a video stream for delivery to the video display device.

Caller ID handling system for calls placed to a mobile phone

A system and associated methods deliver Caller ID information directed to a user's mobile phone onto the user's home television set for viewing. One particular method set forth involves selective providing to a video provider information regarding an incoming call destined for and based on the location of a designated mobile phone associated with a particular user, enabling the video provider to insert the information regarding the incoming call into a video stream for delivery to a video display device associated with the particular user. According to the method, a mobile switching center receives a call from a calling phone. Thereafter, a determination is made as to whether designated mobile phone is within a home zone for the particular user. If so, then the calling phone identification and the mobile phone destination number are sent to a video provider associated with the particular user for insertion into the video stream.
