Data may be protected using a combination of symmetric and asymmetric cryptography. A symmetric key may be generated and the data may be encrypted with the symmetric key. The symmetric key and a only a portion of the symmetrically encrypted data may then be encrypted with an asymmetric public key. The entire set of encrypted data, including the asymmetrically encrypted symmetric key, the doubly encrypted portion of data, and the remainder of the symmetrically encrypted data may then be sent to a remote device using insecure communications.

Method for secure communication using asymmetric and symmetric encryption over insecure communications

Provided are methods and systems for collecting telemetry data by a telemetry library within a client device. A system for the collection of telemetry data by a telemetry library within a client device may comprise a client device to initialize the telemetry library. The system may further comprise a processor to contact a configuration server with identifying information specific to the client device to retrieve configuration information. The system may then perform a search using the identifying information, return configuration regular expressions related to the identifying information to the telemetry library, and identify the telemetry data along with a namespace or a scope to which the telemetry data belongs, using a name generated by the telemetry library.

The characters on an on-screen keyboard are dynamically rearranged to facilitate text entry based on context. Specifically, a home position is established among a plurality of characters displayed on the screen. A user's selection of one of the characters is received by the system, and then the characters are rearranged with respect to the home position in response to the user's selection. The rearranging may be based on the next statistically most likely characters to be selected based on what characters the user has already entered. Statistical analysis of a word list may be applied to the text already entered by the user and then the characters displayed on the keyboard are reordered to place the most likely desired character under or near the cursor. The other characters may be arranged in order of probability of selection from the home or starting position for the cursor.

A system for dynamic configuration of telemetry data may comprise a client to place a library call to a configuration server, the library call including identifying information associated with the client. The system may further comprise a processor to receive, from the configuration server, one or more regular expressions for configuration of the telemetry data collected at the client, based on the identifying information, collect, at the client, the telemetry data based on predetermined criteria, match the one or more regular expressions to the telemetry data, based on the match, selectively provide the telemetry data based on the one or more regular expressions to produce filtered telemetry data, and periodically report the filtered telemetry to the server, the filtered telemetry data including or excluding the telemetry data matching the one or more regular expressions.
