The present disclosure relates generally to the field of medical devices and establishing fluid communication between body lumens. In particular, the present disclosure relates to devices and methods for establishing a controlled flow or access passage between body lumens. For example, a device may include an elongate tubular body defining a lumen along a length thereof. The elongate tubular body may have an unexpanded configuration and an expanded configuration. In the expanded configuration, a proximal portion of the elongate tubular body may expand into a proximal retention member and a distal portion of the elongate tubular body may expand into a distal retention member, leaving a cylindrical saddle region extending therebetween. The cylindrical saddle region may include a constricted portion configured to move between a first diameter configuration and a second diameter configuration larger than the first diameter configuration.

A percutaneous circulatory support device includes a housing having a proximal end portion and a motor carried by the housing. A driving magnet is operatively coupled to the motor, and a driven magnet is operatively coupled to the driving magnet. The driven magnet includes a frustoconical shape. An impeller is disposed within the housing, and the impeller is operatively coupled to the driven magnet. The motor rotates the impeller, via the driving magnet and the driven magnet, relative to the impeller housing to cause blood to flow through the percutaneous circulatory support device and blood is inhibited from pooling in the proximal end portion of the impeller housing.

In one aspect, the present disclosure provides microparticles that are configured to release a first drug over a first time period and to release a second drug over a second time period, wherein a lag period of substantially no drug release occurs between the first and second time periods. Flow control valve

Medical devices and methods for making and using medical devices are disclosed. An example medical device may include an access valve that may be retrieved after implantation. The access valve may include a frame having a lumen, a self-expandable member extending through the lumen, and an elastic membrane extending through the lumen and a second end of the frame to releasably seal the lumen. The access valve may releasably attach to a wall of a patient and releasably seal an opening through the wall. The access valve may be attached to the wall by placing the frame adjacent the wall, extending the self-expandable member through the opening in the wall, and expanding the self-expandable member such that the self-expandable member applies a first force against the wall and a second force opposite the first force against the frame to sandwich the wall between the self-expandable member and the frame.

Methods and devices for treating a lung are disclosed. The method may include deploying a catheter into an airway of the lung, and discharging a media into the airway through the catheter. The media may be configured to increase elasticity of lung tissue in the vicinity of the airway or occlude the airway.

Devices and methods for treating a lung

An injection catheter system that includes (a) an actuator; (b) an outer needle comprising a sharp tip and a tubular body defining a lumen, and extending distally from the actuator; and (c) an inner needle at least partially disposed within the lumen and extending distally from the actuator, the inner needle having a distal tip configured such that at least a portion of the distal tip has a surface contour with an interstitial cavity adapted to receive a therapeutic gel. The system is configured such that (a) in a first position, the distal tip is fully disposed within the lumen to temporarily retain the therapeutic gel in the interstitial cavity and (b) in a second position, the outer needle is retracted proximally, exposing the interstitial cavity to deliver the therapeutic gel to a target area in a body.
