The damping mechanism comprising a damping element suitable for absorbing impacts from a movable part of the shift selector assembly. The damping mechanism comprising a and a support member to which the damping element is rotatably mounted. A shift selector assembly is also provided. The assembly includes a fixed part, a moveable part, a damping element, and a support member. The movable part can be moved relative to the fixed part and biased onto a contoured surface. The damping element absorbs impacts from the moveable part of the shift selector. The support member is rotatably mounted to the damping element.

The multiple redundancy position sensor device intended for detecting the position of a shifter lever in a shifter device, comprises a first magnetic sensor and a second magnetic sensor facing the first magnetic sensor, one of the sensors being a dual die magnetic sensor. A polarized magnet is arranged between the sensors such that the polarized magnet can be rotated with at least one degree of freedom. A signal based on the angular position of the polarized magnet relative to the first magnetic sensor and the second magnetic sensor corresponding to a shifter lever position is output to control a vehicle transmission.

Gear shift device for motor vehicles

The shift by wire shifter device comprises a selector that is movable relative to a fixed part according to a first shifting movement defined by a first shifting path and according to a second shifting movement defined by a second shifting path for selecting gearshift positions. One or both shifting paths extends from different gearshift positions. The selector and the fixed part are directly joined by a joint member such that the first shifting movement is a translational movement and the second shifting movement is a rotational movement, with the first and second shifting paths lying on the same plane.

The mechanism includes a first part and a second part movable relative to the first part, a spring member acting on the second part such that the second part is biased onto a contoured surface, and a damper element for absorbing impacts to the first part associated with one of the first part and the second part such that movement of the second part relative to the first part causes movement of the damper element relative to one of the first part and the second part without contacting the other of the first part and the second part.

A shifting device comprises a selector lever movable relative to a fixed part and selector lever lock for preventing the lever from being moved when in a locking position (P) in which a vehicle transmission is blocked. The lock comprises a slider coupled with lever configured to slide through the fixed part from the locking position (P) to an unlocking position (R, N, D) in which vehicle transmission is unblocked. The slider may comprise one or more stop such that the slider can only be displaced through the fixed part or otherwise allowed to be rotated about an axis for changing into any of the unlocking positions (R, N, D).
