A pressure relief valve includes a lever plate, a first spring, a fitting, and a guide assembly. The fitting has a first side, a second side, and a flange having a rounded end and includes a surface with which a first end of the first spring contacts. The guide assembly has two sides, two concavities, and at least a portion of the guide assembly extends through the opening of the lever plate, the first concavity is formed on the first side of the guide assembly and contacts the fitting flange rounded end, and the second concavity is aligned coaxially with the first concavity. A rounded end of a rod of the diaphragm assembly contacts the second concavity. The second spring is adapted to supply a second force against the diaphragm assembly to move the lever plate in a second direction that is substantially opposite the first direction.

Pressure relief valves and pneumatic control systems

An apparatus is provided for a valve actuator assembly comprising an actuator housing, a piston, and a spring. The piston is disposed within the actuator housing. The piston is configured to couple to a valve element, and includes an inner cylindrical section and an outer cylindrical section. The outer cylindrical section of the piston is spaced apart from the inner cylindrical section to define a recess. The piston is further configured to move within the actuator housing in a first direction and a second direction, to thereby move the valve element toward a first position and a second position, respectively. The spring is disposed within the actuator housing, and is configured to supply a bias force that urges the piston to move in the first direction. The spring is at least partially disposed within the recess, and at least partially surrounding the inner cylindrical section.

Reversed actuator with minimal leak potential

An apparatus is provided for a valve assembly comprising a valve body, a valve element, an actuator housing, an actuator, an unlocked storage opening, a locked storage opening, and a lock. The valve body has an inlet port, an outlet port, and a flow passage therebetween. The valve element is movably disposed within the valve body flow passage. The actuator is disposed within the actuator housing, coupled to the valve element, and operable to move the valve. The unlocked and locked storage openings are formed in the actuator housing. The lock is selectively insertable into, and movable between, the unlocked and locked storage openings. When in the unlocked storage opening, the lock does not engage the actuator, and valve movement is thereby allowed. When in the locked storage opening, the lock engages at least a portion of the actuator, thereby at least inhibiting valve movement.
