A tibial plateau leveling osteotomy (TPLO) system is provided for surgical correction of a stifle joint of an animal. The system includes a bone plate, fixed angle locking screw, compression screw, and a K-wire. The bone plate includes first surface and a second surfaces having common structure such that each can be positioned against the bone. The plate has a first shaft portion with a dynamic compression screw hole having a major length both extending along a first axis, and second shaft portion with a second axis and K-wire slot defining a major axis angled relative to the second axis but parallel to the first axis. The locking screw has double lead threads and the threaded holes in the plate have quad-lead threads.

Bone plate and method for use in a tibial plateau leveling osteotomy (TPLO)

A bone plate has first and second sides, each with the same structure. The plate includes nodes separated by deformable bridges. Each node defines a screw hole, and wings extending laterally therefrom. The wings taper in thickness between the first and second sides. Screw holes are threaded into the nodes. The plate can be shaped to the bone by deformation at the bridges or removal of portions of the plate at bridges.

Orthopedic bone plate system

A bone clamping device includes a pair of clamps mounted on a clamp connector. Each clamp has a variable size opening that varies in size transverse to the clamp connector. At least one clamp is longitudinally and angularly displaceable relative to the other along the clamp connector. The clamps are preferably made from a plastic and the clamp connector is preferably made from metal.

Universal orthopedic clamp

An implantable prosthetic hip system generally includes acetabular components, femoral components, and tooling for implanting the components. The acetabular components include an acetabular socket and a bushing received within the acetabular socket. The acetabular socket defines a reamer with cutters for preparing the acetabulum. The femoral components generally include a cutter cap, a head cover, and a screw. Tooling includes a cutting bit that is used to cut a flat on the femoral head. The cutter cap is advanced in a cutting action onto the femoral head to remove the sides of the head and the cutter cap is also implanted on the femoral head. The head cover is positioned on the cutter cap, and retained with a coupling screw. The acetabular socket and the head cover are assembled with a bushing therebetween. Methods of implantation are also provided.

Prosthetic hip system

A bone plate has first and second sides, each with the same structure. The plate includes nodes separated by deformable bridges. Each node defines a screw hole, and wings extending laterally therefrom. The wings taper in thickness between the first and second sides. Screw holes are threaded into the nodes. Each of the first and second sides of the body define longitudinal channels in the nodes. The plate can be shaped to the bone by deformation at the bridges or removal of portions of the plate at bridges. A pair of benders, each with clamp bracket and clamping bolt threadedly coupled within a threaded hole of the bracket, is also provided for shaping the plate.

A fracture fixation plate system for use on a long bone having a metaphysis and a diaphysis, includes at least one end plate having a head portion for the metaphysis, and at least one diaphyseal plate having a first end and a second end with a plurality of screw holes therebetween. The end plate includes mating structure adapted to mate with and securely couple to at least one end of the at least one diaphyseal plate. The system preferably includes several end plates and diaphyseal plates to accommodate anatomy of various sizes. A method for coupling the plates to the bone is also provided.

Modular fracture fixation system

A system, devices and methods are provided for facilitating stabilization of periarticular fractures. The system includes a compression plate and one or more of a cerclage cable for encircling the bone and securing the compression plate to the bone, a crimp lug for securing the cable in tension relative to the bone and/or a plate, and a supplemental plate coupled to the compression plate and adapted to receive bicortical or unicortical bone screws to further secure the compression plate relative to the bone. In addition, the system includes a cable tensioner for temporarily retaining the cable in tension and then applying a tension to the cable until a desired compression is effected between a plate and bone and while a cable retaining structure is secured to the cable to retain the applied tension on the cable. Also provided is a jig for use with plates for minimally invasive fracture stabilization.

A weightlifting belt includes a band of padding configured to be banded about a waist of a user and a continuous chain extending in spaced relation to the padding. The chain is coupled to the band of padding at a plurality of spaced locations along the padding. The chain is fixed to the padding at at least one of the plurality of locations and is moveably coupled to the padding at at least one of the spaced locations. In one embodiment, the center of the chain is fixed to the center of the band of padding. Also, the chain may be configured to extend about an outer surface of the padding when the padding and the chain are banded about the waist of the user. The chain may be radially spaced with respect to the outer surface of the padding.

Weightlifting belt and system

A fracture fixation plate s stem for use on a long bone having metaphysis and a diaphysis, includes at least one end plate having ahead portion for the metaphysis, and at least one diaphyseal plate having a first end and a second end with a plurality of screw holes therebetween. The end plate includes mating structure adapted to mate with and securely couple to at least one end of the at least one diaphyseal plate. The system preferably includes several end plates and diaphyseal plates to accommodate anatomy of various sizes. A method for coupling the plates to the bone is also provided.

Methods and systems for bone plate bending are provided which include bending tools that couple relative to the bone plate to bend the plate. Such system permit bending without necessitating that the bending tools are in direct contact with the holes in the plate, which could deform the holes.

Bone plate shaping system

Removable drill guide tips are provided for simultaneous assembly relative to the holes of a bone plate. The drill guide tips are used as a guide for a drill bit without any additional extension and then removed with a tool to allow insertion of a screw within the same hole in the bone plate. Alternatively, the drill guide tips may be used with an extension to extend the effective length of the drill guide.

Drill guides and extension therefor for simultaneous use on a bone plate

Removable drill guide tips are pre-assembled into threaded holes of a bone plate. The tips may be used with an extension to together function as a conventional drill guide. After drilling, the extension or another tool is used to remove the tips from the plate. According to another use, the tip is used as a guide for a drill bit without any additional extension and then removed with a tool.
