Disclosed herein is a spittoon assembly for a printing device, a printing device comprising a spittoon assembly, and a method of cleaning a print head using a spittoon assembly. The spittoon assembly comprises a waste receptacle and a spit plate with a receiving surface. The receiving surface is inclined relative to a horizontal direction by an inclination angle when the spittoon assembly is mounted in the printing device. A fluid path extends from the receiving surface to the waste receptacle.

Disclosed herein is a print head maintenance cartridge, a printing device and a method of controlling a wiping subsystem of a print head maintenance cartridge. The print head maintenance cartridge comprises a wiping subsystem with a wiping material to wipe a print head; a clean material roll, wherein a clean part of the wiping material is rolled up on the clean material roll at least in part; a brake to generate a first brake force applied to the wiping material; and a friction element to generate a second brake force applied to the wiping material, wherein the friction element compensates at least in part a change in the first brake force to control a total brake force, wherein the total brake force is the sum of the first and second brake forces.

A printhead servicing system comprises a humidified air stream generator () to generate a humidified air stream; a humidified air stream channeling module () to channel the generated humidified air stream to a humidified air stream ejection module () to eject the humidified air stream towards a printhead nozzle plate () of a printer (); and a wiping module () to wipe a printhead nozzle plate () of the printer.

Disclosed herein is a device, a printing device and a method of operating a printing device. The device comprises an air flow path extending from an intake to an outlet. The intake is to be mounted in a printing device and comprises a proximal intake segment and a distal intake segment along the air flow path. A proximal air flow path from the proximal intake segment to the outlet is shorter than a distal air flow path from the distal intake segment to the outlet. Each of the proximal and distal intake segments comprises a wall segment with at least one hole. An opening ratio of an area of the at least one hole and an area of the respective wall segment is larger in the distal intake segment than in the proximal intake segment.

Aerosol management systems

A media transfer system comprising a media drive component and a vent. The media drive component supports and transfers a media in a drive direction. The vent directs air flow towards the leading edge of the media in the drive direction to exert a separating force on the leading edge of the media, the separating force acting on the media away from the media drive component.

A media stacker () comprises a stacking platform (), a feed mechanism (), a media arresting mechanism () and a controller (). The feed mechanism conveys media sheets for dispensing onto the stacking platform, wherein the media sheets are dispensed onto the stacking platform with a momentum imparted by the feed mechanism. The media arresting mechanism reduces the momentum of media sheets. The controller determines that a trailing edge of a media sheet is to be dispensed onto the stacking platform, and further control the media arresting apparatus to reduce the momentum of the media sheet in response to the determination.

Media stackers

A printing device is described in which there is a media guide that is arranged to guide a printable media substrate from an upstream media path towards an input of the printing device or away from an output of the printing device towards a downstream media path. The media guide is movable between a first position and a second position. In the first position the media guide is arranged to guide the printable media along a respective media path. In the second position, which is spaced apart from the first position, the media guide forms a buffer region into which a variable amount of media substrate can collect.

Printing device

In one example in accordance with the present disclosure a media transport device is described. The device includes a number of drive rollers coupled to a frame. A number of media rollers are also coupled to the frame. The media rollers are in contact with, and rotated by, the number of drive rollers. Media rollers in a first set have a first diameter and media rollers in a second set have a second diameter that is different from the first diameter. The device also includes a number of pinch rollers coupled to the frame. The pinch rollers are in contact with the number of media rollers to form a number of nips through which media passes along a feed path.
