A control method of a depth camera includes controlling first and second image sensors to detect light in a first wavelength range, generating a first depth map based on first and second images, subjecting one of the first and second images to edge-detection processing, controlling a light source to emit light in a second wavelength range when a number of edge pixels is determined to be smaller than a preset pixel number, controlling the second image sensor to detect light in the second wavelength range, generating a second depth map based on a third image, subjecting the first and the second depth maps to image fusion processing, and registering a fused depth map with one of the first and second images to generate 3D point cloud data.

Control method of a depth camera

An image capturing system comprises a first image capturing module, a second image capturing module and a depth map processing/generating device. The first image capturing module having a first lens, a first aperture and a first image sensor generates a first image corresponding to a first optical-wavelength range. The second image capturing module having a second lens, a second aperture, a third aperture and a second image sensor generates a second image of the first optical-wavelength range and a third image of a second optical-wavelength range. The depth map processing/generating device generates a first depth map according to the parallax of the scene observed in the first image and the second image, and generates a second depth map according to the difference/ratio of sharpness/blur between the second image and the third image, therefore wider range of resolving the object distance and accuracy of the image could be both considered.

Image capturing system obtaining scene depth information and focusing method thereof

The present invention illustrates an automatic focusing method. Firstly, through multiple cameras of an image capturing device, a scene is captured, such that multiple images generated corresponding to the cameras are obtained. Then, multiple depth maps are generated according to the images. Next, according to the resolutions of single one or multiple objects in the depth maps, the depth information of the single one or multiple objects in the depth maps can be selected to generate a merged depth map. Then, a target focus distance of the single one object or target focus distances of multiple objects are calculated according to the merged depth map. Next, an actual focus distance of the multi-lenses module associated with the cameras is adjusted according to the target focus distance of the single one object or one of the multiple objects.

Image capturing device and automatic focusing method thereof

The disclosure relates to a multi-camera imaging system, and a compensation method for image reconstruction. The main components of the multi-camera imaging system are an image capturing module having a multi-lens module and a multi-sensor module, and a distance adjustment unit automatically adjusting the distance between the multi-lens and multi-sensor modules. Note that the distance adjustment unit conducts compensation performed on the change of the system's focal length caused by temperature in the system. The multi-camera imaging system further includes a position-sensing module which is used to sense a displacement or change of the distance made by the distance adjustment unit. A set of image reconstruction parameters corresponding to the displacement or the change of distance is then provided.

A focusing method includes the steps of calculating a diameter difference between a first circle of confusion diameter and a second circle of confusion diameter which correspond respectively to first image data and second image data associated respectively with light energy of a first spectrum and light energy of a second spectrum, generating a control signal associated with a target image distance according to an initial image distance, the diameter difference, and a lookup table, driving movement of a lens module so as to change a distance between the lens module and an image sensor from the initial image distance into the target image distance according to the control signal.

Focusing method, and image capturing device for implementing the same

An image capturing device includes a first image capturing module, a second image capturing module and a focusing and image processing module. The first image capturing module includes a plurality of first phase focusing detectors, and the field of view of the second image capturing module is smaller than the field of view of the first image capturing module. The plurality of the first phase focusing detectors are used for generating a plurality of first sets of optical sensing signals. When one of the plurality of the first sets of optical sensing signals are selected by the focusing and image processing module to provide a first focal signal according to the selected first set of optical sensing signal, the first image capturing module and the second image capturing module adjust respective focal distances according to the first focal signal.

Image capturing device with an auto-focusing method thereof

A gesture recognition system is disclosed. The gesture recognition system comprises at least one lighting module, at least one angle detecting module, an image capturing module and a gesture information control module. The lighting module is used for emitting a light. The angle detecting module receives a reflected light of the light and accordingly outputs a light sensing signal. The image capturing module is used for capturing at least one 2-D reference image for at least one hand of the user. The distance between the angle detecting module and the image capturing module is a fixed length. The gesture information control module acquires a plurality of angle data according to the light sensing signal and the 2-D reference image to calculate at least one depth data for at least one hand according to the plurality of angle data and the fixed length, so as to recognize the gestures.

An optical touch panel and a method of detecting touch point positions on an optical touch panel are provided. The optical touch panel includes a processing unit, and at least three optical detectors divided into at least two detector groups. Each of the optical detectors is configured to output a signal indicating intensities of light detected thereby, and is associated with a detection range. The processing unit is configured to receive the signals from the optical detectors, to determine which of the optical detectors detect touch points within the respective detection range according to the signals received by the processing unit, and to obtain an optimum set of coordinates for at least one of the touch points with respect to an optimum detector group which is one of the detector groups formed by the optical detectors that detect the touch points.

The method comprises steps of: sequentially detecting multiple frames according to a frame rate, wherein each of the multiple frames includes a light signal; generating a light intensity information based on the light signals; determining a sampling window according to a predetermined detection frequency and the frame rate; dividing the light intensity information into multiple light intensity groups according to the sampling window; distinguishing a feature of each light intensity group, and recording an index position of each feature of the light intensity groups; calculating, individually, a difference between the index positions of the adjacent light intensity groups; and determining whether the differences are patterned, in order to determine whether the light intensity information corresponds to a flicker.

A three-dimensional position detecting device includes an electromagnetic radiation source, a first sensing module having first sensing elements, and a second sensing module having second sensing elements.
