A cryosurgery system, comprising two or more cryoprobes is provided. Each cryoprobe includes a probe shaft having a distal section insertable in a patient and a proximal coupler. A connector interface with connection ports permits connections to a corresponding cryoprobe. Each connection port can have an isolating sleeve between the proximal coupler and the connection port when the proximal coupler of the respective cryoprobe is inserted in the connection port. The isolating sleeve can include an electrically insulating material so as to electrically isolate each cryoprobe connected to its corresponding connection port from other cryoprobes connected to their corresponding connection ports. An electrical measurement system can be connected to each connection port to detect electrical signals associated with the probe shaft. A control system can detect, based on the electrical signals detected by the electrical measurement system whether the probe shaft is electrically connected to the electrical heater.

Embodiments of an implantable medical device includes a loop antenna wound about an inner housing. The loop antenna may form a partial winding, a complete winding, or multiple windings about the inner housing. One or more additional antennae may be capacitively coupled to the loop antenna external to the inner housing to increase efficiency and decrease Return Loss Response of the implantable device. The additional antenna may be balanced or unbalanced antennae.

An implantable device includes a header, a pulse generator housing, one or more electrical connectors connected to the header, and a feedthrough assembly mounted to the pulse generator housing. The feedthrough assembly includes a nonconductive base having one or more holes therethrough, the feedthrough assembly further including one or more feedthrough pins, each feedthrough pin extending through one of the holes, each feedthrough pin including a pin body and an upper contact surface for connecting to one or more of the electrical connectors, the upper contact surface having a larger surface area than a cross-sectional area of the pin body.

Example embodiments of an implantable device are configured to be implanted within a patient to provide medical therapy to the patient. In general, an implantable rechargeable device includes a rechargeable battery and an electronic board assembly arranged within a case and an antenna electrically coupled to the rechargeable battery. The antenna is configured to receive power and to transfer at least a portion of the received power to the rechargeable battery for recharging. A phase change material is arranged within the case around at least a portion of the electronic board assembly. The phase change material is configured to transition from a first phase to a second phase at a transition temperature when the insulating material absorbs heat (e.g., from the electronic board assembly).

An implantable device includes a housing, a circuit board having a plurality of through holes, and a plurality of interconnect pins within the housing and oriented perpendicular to a major surface of the housing. The circuit board is connected to the interconnect pins such that the pins extend through the through holes of the circuit board.

Implantable medical device assembly and manufacturing method

A device-to-lead terminal connector for an implantable medical device is designed to positively lock the proximal lead terminal within a lead bore formed in the connector of the implantable device. Rather than using a conventional setscrew locking arrangement, first and second latching members are insertable through side ports in the device connector that intersect with the lead bore and that contain an elastomeric sleeve. When the latching members are squeezed together, they cooperate to expand the elastomeric sleeve against the proximal lead terminal to press it into intimate electrical and mechanical engagement with a contact in the lead bore of the device connector. The need for a tool to effect locking of the lead terminal in place is dispensed with.
