Systems, methods and apparatuses for handling trick mode operation using multiple video streams are provided. A media server presents a first video stream having a first level of a video characteristic for display. The media server, in response to receiving a first command, presents a second video stream having a second level of the video characteristic for display while stopping presenting the first video stream for display based on a determination determined using the first level of the video characteristic and the second level of the video characteristic. The first video stream and the second video stream are directed to the same video content.

Trick mode operation with multiple video streams

A method is provided that includes receiving a video timing pulse, determining, in response to receiving the video timing pulse, a video engine is busy processing a previous frame, and storing settings for a current frame in a pending queue in response to determining the video engine is busy processing the previous frame. The method further includes configuring the video engine with the settings for the current frame from the pending queue after the video engine has completed processing of the previous frame, and processing, using the configured video engine, the current frame.

Methods, systems, and devices for improving security of media streams are disclosed. The system can receive a decoded media stream from a media decoding pipeline that receives and decodes an encoded media stream. The system can identify, based on the decoded media stream, a set of features to generate, and generate the set of features using the decoded media stream. Such features may include luma histograms, pixel intensity data, motion vectors, edge detection, audio gain, tonal information, pitch information, among other types of features. The system can provide the set of features to a processor executing a machine-learning model, wherein the processor executing the machine-learning model is prevented from accessing the decoded media stream by the device.

Feature and parameter extraction for audio and video processing

An apparatus for improved rendering includes a number of processing channels to receive multiple input content sources and to process that input content. A compositor can composite processed input content to generate a composite output signal. An output adaptation block can adapt the composite output signal along with dynamic metadata for display by a display device. Each processing channel includes a statistics generator and an input adaptation block.

Video rendering system

In some aspects, the disclosure is directed to methods and systems for synchronization management of high dynamic range (HDR) media metadata. A synchronization controller of a media device may receive a first set of HDR media metadata provided in connection with one or more images of media. The synchronization controller may disable a metadata synchronization indicator provided to each core of a plurality of processing cores of the media device, responsive to receiving the first set of HDR media metadata. The synchronization controller may write the first set of HDR media metadata to a first memory location while the metadata synchronization indicator is disabled. The synchronization controller may enable the metadata synchronization indicator, responsive to completion of writing of the first set of HDR media metadata to the first memory location.

In some aspects, the disclosure is directed to methods and systems for transformation between media formats, such as between standard dynamic range (SDR) and high dynamic range (HDR) media or between HDR media formats, without undesired hue shifting, via one or both of a luminance mapping ratio technique and a direct color component mapping technique.

System and method of luminance processing in high dynamic range and standard dynamic range conversion

Systems and methods are provided for combining a plurality of streams with a plurality of formats into a single output stream in a predetermined output format. Each of the plurality of streams includes at least one of video or graphics. Each stream is processed by determining a format of the stream, determining whether the format is compatible with the predetermined output format, and responsive to determining that the format is compatible with the predetermined output format, converting the format to the predetermined output format. The processed plurality of streams are combined into a single output stream in the predetermined output format.

Systems and methods for combining video and graphic sources for display

Systems and methods are provided to render a plurality of graphical assets each having a format of a plurality of formats. Each graphical asset is processed by determining whether the format of the graphical asset is compatible with a predetermined render domain format and responsive to determining the format is not compatible with the predetermined render domain format, converting, using a format conversion circuit, the format to the predetermined render domain format. The plurality of graphical assets are rendered using a single rendering engine operable coupled to the format conversion circuit using the predetermined render domain format.

A device for multiple-quality level video processing includes a primary tap configured to receive prime-quality video content from a source and to provide the prime-quality video content to a primary path and to a secondary tap. The primary tap may be operable in a prime-quality mode. The secondary tap may be disposed after the primary tap and may be coupled to a number of secondary paths. One or more dithering modules may be disposed after the primary tap. The dithering module(s) may be configured to convert the prime-quality video content provided by the primary tap to lower-bit precision and/or lower pixel-rate video content for use in one or more of the secondary paths.
