A device includes a container having a top plate containing an array of oxygen limiting pinholes and a chamber to hold a chemical hydride fuel, a fuel cell proton exchange membrane electrode assembly supported within the container between the top plate and the chamber, a first gas diffusion layer supported between the fuel cell proton exchange membrane electrode assembly and the top plate, and a second gas diffusion layer supported between the fuel cell proton exchange membrane electrode assembly and the chamber.

A device includes a container having a top plate containing an array of oxygen limiting pinholes and a chamber to hold a chemical hydride fuel, a fuel cell membrane electrode assembly supported within the container between the top plate and the chamber positioned to receive oxygen from the pinholes and hydrogen from the chamber, and a valve assembly positioned to regulate additional flow of oxygen to the fuel cell proton exchange membrane electrode assembly responsive to hydrogen pressure in the chamber.

A ring laser gyroscope comprises a block defining a hermetically sealed cavity for a ring laser formed when a lasing medium disposed within the cavity is excited. A cathode and an anode are attached to the block at two fill positions comprised within the cavity, and exposed to the lasing medium such that the lasing medium is ionized when a high voltage pulse is supplied across cathode and anode. At least two RF electrodes are attached to the block, positioned on opposing sides to generate a capacitive discharge for the purpose of keeping the lasing medium excited. The gyro comprises a matching circuit to tune the frequency of a radio frequency (RF) signal generated by a RF power source before the RF signal is sent to the electrodes. The matching circuit is coupled to the RF electrodes via respective lead wires, and comprises an element matching network.

A ring laser gyroscope (RLG) is configured with control circuits that are capable of automatic calibration. The RLG generates two laser beams in opposite directions around a closed loop path to determine angular rotation of the RLG. The laser beams propagate in a laser gain medium, and a laser intensity monitor circuit is operatively connected to the laser gain medium to monitor an intensity of the laser beams propagating in the laser gain medium. A dithering circuit is provided, including a dithering motor for mechanically oscillating the RLG at a controlled frequency and dither angle. A gain circuit is operatively connected to a detector array of the RLG to amplify a detector signal therefrom. According to the present invention, an automatically variable resistance is provided to calibrate the laser intensity monitor circuit of the RLG, to control the dither angle at which the dithering motor mechanically oscillates the RLG, and/or to calibrate the gain circuit of the RLG. In one embodiment, the automatically variable resistance(s) is provided by one or more digital potentiometers connected to the relevant control circuitry.
