A telecommunications system is configured to prevent Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) swap scams. The system includes multiple network nodes and a database. When a SIM change occurs for a given phone number, a messaging process is triggered between the network nodes that temporarily sets a flag in the database associated with that phone number. While the flag is set in the database, messages for the phone number are not delivered in a normal manner. Instead, the messages are analyzed by the network for the presence of secure information, such as one-time passwords (OTPs). If a message is determined to be secure by the network, then delivery of the message is blocked, thereby preventing a fraudster from performing SIM swap fraud using the message.

Secure messaging framework for preventing SIM swap fraud

System and methods for using a single number for multiple devices supported by distinct network operators are described. A secondary device from a different network operator may be provisioned on a wireless communications network and associated with a primary telephone number that is also associated with one or more other devices so that traffic for the primary telephone number is duplicated to the secondary device. When the secondary device is used for communications with the primary telephone number, call detail records may be provided to the primary network billing system that may not charge for the services and to a billing system associated with the secondary device for appropriate billing.

Framework for unified wireless communications

System and methods for routing requests for both assisted communications and non-assisted communications with devices operated by deaf or hard-of-hearing (DHH) users using a single number are described. A network component may determine whether to use routing that directs such requests to an assistance system based on the type of communications requested and one or more identifiers in a request. If a communications request includes a DHH user device's identifier and communications type that are represented in assistance routing data, the network component may forward that request to an assistance system. Otherwise, the network component may route such a request normally. A DHH user may request a suspension of the assistance routing for a period of time and/or until reinstatement of the assistance routing is requested.
