Systems and methods described herein may provide a system that utilizes a machine learning algorithm to determine a color palette based on user context and assigning colors of the color palette to connected systems or peripherals to apply lighting effects. A method may include retrieving, by an information handling system, user context; analyzing, by the information handling system, user context to determine a plurality of colors associated with the user context; generating, by the information handling system, a set of color palettes based, at least in part, on the user context; and generating, by the information handling system, an aggregate color palette based, at least in part, on the set of color palettes. Other aspects are also disclosed.

An information handling system may receive a first input indication from a first control stick of a handheld controller, wherein the first input indication indicates that the first control stick is in a first position, receive a second input indication from a first button of the handheld controller, wherein the second input indication indicates that the first button is pressed while the first control stick is in the first position, and determine that the first input indication corresponds to a first character in response to receipt of the first input indication. The information handling system may then select the first character based on the determination that the first input indication corresponds to the first character and receipt of the second input indication.

In one embodiment, the membrane integrates a printed circuit board that couples a key matrix controller and a touch detection controller interfaced with a communications hub, such as a USB hub, to communicate key and touchpad inputs to a motherboard through a flexible connector portion of the membrane.

This disclosure describes systems, devices, apparatuses, and methods of retracting or extending a button, such as a depressible button, pad, joystick, trigger, or bumper. The button can include a movable structure with magnets at two positions and a coil that can be energized to create a magnetic field. The button can be configured to retract when a current is applied to the coil, and to extend when a different current is applied to the coil. The button can include a magnetic core that can latch to a magnet when the button is retracted and that can latch to a different magnet when the button is extended. In some configurations, the button is configured to retract or extend relative to a printed circuit board, a housing, or both.

Embodiments of this disclosure provide a user input device, such as a gaming controller, for providing input to the information handling system while executing the applications. The user input device may include a three-dimensional lighting structure, which bends across many faces or surfaces of the user input device while providing a uniform light emission. The lighting structure may be used to convey an instruction to a user, such as a direction to turn the device, convey information to the user, such as flashing to indicate a notification, and/or used to convey application feedback, such as flashing or changing lights based on events occurring in the application.

Embodiments of a new and innovative button construct include a curved button, a flexible printed circuit, and a frame. The curved button has a first, exterior side configured to be contacted by a user, and a second, interior side opposite the first, exterior side. The flexible printed circuit includes a first portion and a second portion. The first portion includes at least one touch sensor. The first portion and the second portion are folded relative to one another such that the frame is disposed between the second portion and at least the portion of the first portion including the touch sensor(s). The touch sensor(s) of the first portion is disposed between the second, interior side of the curved button and the frame.
