A failsafe for a transdermal apparatus for a prosthetic appendage can include a first plate, a second plate, and a breakaway connector. The first plate can have a central axis, a proximal portion, and a distal end. The distal end can be opposite the proximal portion, and the distal end can be securable with a prosthetic external to skin and can be configured to simulate an appendage of a patient. The second plate can be aligned with the central axis and can include a proximal end and a distal portion. The proximal end can be securable to a transdermal implant, and can extend proximally from the second plate. The distal portion can be opposite the proximal end, and the distal portion can be configured to interface with the proximal portion of the first plate. The breakaway connector can be couplable within the second plate and the first plate.

Failsafe device for prosthetic limb

A knee arthroplasty assembly for use in a patient's knee joint including a tibia and a femur is disclosed. The assembly can include a tool, a first accessory, and a second accessory. The tool can include a tibial component configured for placement against the tibia and a femoral component configured for placement against the femur. The femoral component can be moveably coupled to the tibial component to place the patient's knee joint in tension by separating the tibia and the femur. The first accessory can be removeably coupled to the tibial component of the tool. The second accessory can be referenced to the first accessory and can have a reference indicator that references the femur for determining a size of the femur.

Methods and apparatuses including an apparatus for guiding a femoral bone cut during knee replacement surgery are disclosed. The apparatus can comprise a cut guide having a first side, a second side, a third side, and one or more slots. The first side can be configured to interface with a resected surface of a femur. The second side can be spaced from the first side. The one or more slots can be defined by the apparatus and extend from the first side to the second side. The third side can be disposed between the first side and the second side and can have at least one projection extending therefrom. The at least one projection can be configured to guide a cutting tool into the one or more slots.

A resection shift guide can include a base member and a block member. The base member can include first and second arms. The block member can include a first end, rotatably coupled with the first arm, a second end, rotatably coupled with the second arm, and at least three surfaces extending between the first and second ends. Each of the at least three surfaces can include two or more drill holes arranged differently than drill holes of the other surfaces. A method can include removing a 4-in-1 cut guide from two original femoral lumens, drilling two adjusted femoral lumens using a resection shift guide, removing the resection shift guides, and attaching the 4-in-1 cut guide to the two adjusted femoral lumens.

A knee arthroplasty system for use in a patient's knee joint comprises a spacer block instrument including a base portion, a tibial component extending from the base portion and configured for placement against a tibia, and a femoral component configured for placement against a femur. The femoral component is rotatably coupled to the tibial component. The system further includes one or more spacer block shims structured for removable attachment to the tibial component.
