An analog front-end circuit for self-calibrating a comparator, the circuit comprising a comparator in a comparator measurement path; a preamplifier coupled to the comparator by a set of switches; and an amplifier coupled to the preamplifier, the preamplifier receiving a reference signal as a first input and a user-definable reference as a second input, the user-definable reference generating a user-definable value chosen to create a known condition at an output of the preamplifier, the preamplifier determines a residual value that represents a measurement error in a signal path comprising the comparator and is used to adjust the user-definable reference value to calibrate the signal path such that threshold boundaries for the comparator can be adjusted to tighten a comparator specification.

Comparator diagnostic systems and methods

Described are systems and methods take advantage of properties of sinc filters that remove frequency components at specific integer multiples of a noise frequency. In various embodiments, sampling of multi-channel systems at sufficiently high rates allows for removal of unwanted signals and harmonics from multi-sample sequences. Advantageously, a multi-sample sequence scheduling scheme eliminates the need for noise filtering one channel at a time at each channel's own sampling rate using a separate filter.

Systems and methods for on-chip filtering

Embodiments of methods and systems for BMC decoding are described. In an embodiment, a method for BMC decoding involves performing a unit interval estimation of a BMC encoded bit stream, locating a bit boundary of the BMC encoded bit stream based on the unit interval estimation and a known sequence in a preamble of the BMC encoded bit stream, and measuring a time duration across multiple bit transitions from the bit boundary and decoding the BMC encoded bit stream based on the time duration and the unit interval estimation.

Method and system for bi-phase mark coding (BMC) decoding

Phase-locked loop (PLL) circuits and methods of operation are disclosed. At frequencies that are closer to a center frequency, the phase noise characteristics contributed by a crystal oscillator in a first PLL sub-circuit dominate over the phase noise characteristics contributed by a second PLL sub-circuit, resulting in low close-in phase noise in the overall PLL circuit output signal, while at frequencies farther from the center frequency, the phase noise characteristics contributed by the second PLL sub-circuit dominate over the phase noise characteristics contributed by the crystal oscillator in the first PLL sub-circuit, resulting in low phase noise in the overall PLL circuit output signal at those frequencies.

The present disclosure generally pertains to systems and methods for swapping span power modules that are used for supplying power to network interface units (NIUs). A span power module in accordance with one exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure has logic capable of communicating with logic of another span power module. When one module is to be swapped for the other module, the module being swapped-in is configured to automatically disable the other module shortly after it has powered up and is supplying electrical power across a span line. The amount of time that both modules supply power to the span line is sufficiently small such that damage to electrical communication equipment receiving power from the span line is prevented.

Systems and methods for swapping span power modules in telecommunication networks

An interworking function (IWF) at an edge of a packet network comprises a primary receiver and a backup receiver. The primary receiver receives data packets and timing information from a packet network. The primary receiver interworks data from the data packets into a data signal that is based on a local clock signal. The primary receiver uses the timing information from the packet network to adjust the frequency of the local clock signal such that it is synchronous to a network clock signal, such as a clock signal at an IWF, referred to as the 'transmitting IWF,' that transmitted the data packets. In addition, the primary receiver from time-to-time provides timing information, such as a frequency control word, to the backup receiver, which uses such timing information to synchronize a clock signal of the backup receiver to the network clock signal upon an occurrence of a switchover from the primary receiver to the backup receiver. By using the timing information from the primary transceiver, the backup transceiver is able to synchronize its clock signal to the network clock signal in less time.

A draining plate having a plurality of draining holes therethrough is adapted to rest on the rim of the container between the cover cavity and container cavity when the container is coupled to the cover. A pressing component is disposed through the hole of the container and located within the cover cavity and is used to press a cooked hamburger against the surface of the draining plate.
