A fluid drain system is provided, comprising: a fluid reservoir having at least two sumps including a first sump having a first hole for draining fluid from the fluid reservoir and a second sump having a second hole for draining fluid from the fluid reservoir; a first drain plug having a first end with a first drive feature configured to be operated with a tool for insertion and removal of the first drain plug into and out of the first hole of the fluid reservoir and a second end with a second drive feature; and a second drain plug having a first end with a third drive feature configured to be engaged by the second drive feature of the first drain plug for insertion and removal of the second drain plug into and out of the second hole of the fluid reservoir.

Fluid drain system

A system comprises a component manufactured via additive manufacturing. The component includes a first material with a first contraction rate. An insert is disposed in the component and comprises a second material with a second contraction rate that is lower than the first contraction rate. When the component and the insert are exposed to a temperature suitable for sintering, the component contracts around the insert, thereby coupling the insert and the component.

A system for cooling a cylinder head includes a cylinder head, a cylinder block, and a waste heat recovery system. The cylinder head includes a first water jacket and a second water jacket. The cylinder block is coupled to the cylinder head. The cylinder block includes a third water jacket. The first water jacket is coupled to a first cooling circuit. The second water jacket is coupled to a second cooling circuit. The third water jacket is coupled to a third cooling circuit. The waste heat recovery system is coupled to at least one of the first cooling circuit, the second cooling circuit, and the third cooling circuit.

Systems and methods for avoiding structural failure resulting from hot high cycles using a cylinder head cooling arrangement

A spark-ignited gas engine system comprises a combustion chamber defined by a piston, a head with a spark plug mechanism, and a cylinder having an associated intake valve and an associated exhaust valve, into which a mixture of combustible gas and air is entered via an intake manifold of the engine to drive a crankshaft. The system further comprises at least one turbocharger to compress the mixture. The system further comprises at least one camshaft, driven by the crankshaft via a gear assembly connected to the crankshaft, that comprises at least one cam that actuates the intake valve and the exhaust valve, at least one camphaser, coupled to the crankshaft via the gear assembly, and a controller to adjust a cam angle operation of the intake valve and the exhaust valve by adjusting the camphaser to a desired phase position to meet a target rotational phase of the camshaft.

An intake manifold is provided that controls swirl on entry to a combustion chamber. Each intake manifold includes a fin or rib portion positioned to reduce or eliminate swirl induced by the configuration of the intake manifold, particularly when used in a large engine having a left bank and a right bank of combustion chambers. By controlling swirl induced by the intake manifold, swirl consistency is improved between engine cylinders and between the left bank and the right bank, improving the consistency of power output and reducing emissions, particularly particulate emissions, also called smoke.
