A system for cooling a heat generating component of a vehicle. The system includes a blower of a vehicle heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system. An air duct extends from the blower to the heat generating component to cool the heat generating component.

System for cooling vehicle electronic control unit with HVAC

A pass-through seal may seal a component extending between a first member and a second member in a vehicle. The pass-through seal may define a core opening and have a varying outer profile. The core opening receives the component at a predefined angle relative to an aperture defined by the first member. The core opening supports the component at the predefined angle at one end and has a snug fit with the component at the other end. The varying outer profile is configured to create an interference fit with the aperture defined by the first member at one end and to be larger than the aperture at the other end.

A rear HVAC system for a motor vehicle including a housing, an airflow generator, an evaporator, and a heater. The housing is configured to be mounted adjacent to a rear wheel well and a D-pillar of the motor vehicle. The evaporator and the heater are mounted within the housing. Both the evaporator and the heater are between a vehicle floor and a line that is both generally parallel to the floor and tangent to an upper surface of the rear wheel well when the housing is installed in the vehicle.

An air conditioning apparatus has, a first domed door comprising a first pivot and a first sealing surface, and a second domed door comprising a second pivot and a second sealing surface, wherein, said second pivot is positioned different from said second pivot. With the above structure, the radial gap between the first sealing surface and the second sealing surface is varied when at least one of the two domed doors is moved. Accordingly, the air conditioning apparatus described above does not have to set the constant small radial gap or constant wide radial gap for the sake of reducing unintentional air leaking or preventing said friction.

Air conditioning apparatus

A heat exchanger assembly, such as a condenser, may employ a portion of a heat exchanger end tank to define a slot with a second portion of the end tank. The first and second portions define an interior volume of the end tank. A flared end of a side plate may reside within the slot and may have a straight portion having a first width, a first step portion having a second width that is wider than the first width, and a second step portion that has a third width that is wider than the second width. The flared end may have a tab that protrudes from the second step portion and that is symmetrical about a longitudinal axis of the side plate. The end tank may define a second slot where the tab resides when the flared end resides over an entire cross-sectional portion of a volume defined by end tank.

Heat exchanger end cap

An HVAC system is provided for use in a vehicle having a passenger compartment volume. The HVAC system includes a HVAC housing having a duct opening formed in an exterior sidewall thereof. An evaporator is further provided for exhausting air downstream that is cooler than the air on the upstream side. An auxiliary compartment, such as a storage bin, is spaced apart from the HVAC housing, such as in a remote location of the passenger compartment. An auxiliary duct fluidly interconnects the HVAC housing and the auxiliary compartment via the duct opening for transmitting the cool exhausted air to the auxiliary compartment to provide a cooling effect within the auxiliary location. The auxiliary duct, in some embodiments, is disposed external from the HVAC housing for improved service and retrofitting to existing HVAC systems.

Heating, ventilating and air-conditioning apparatus

A heating, venting, and air conditioning (HVAC) system for a vehicle according to the principles of the present disclosure includes a blower, an evaporator, a heater core, and a single door. The blower is operable to blow air. The evaporator is positioned downstream from the blower and is operable to cool air flowing through the evaporator. The heater core is positioned downstream from the evaporator and is operable to heat air flowing through the heater core. The single door is positioned downstream from the heater core and is rotatable to control airflow through the heater core and to direct airflow to at least one of a first outlet and a second outlet.

Door for controlling temperature and airflow distribution of a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system in a vehicle

A mounting arrangement for a heat exchanger in a vehicle includes a bracket having a main body. A first portion is secured to the heat exchanger and a second portion includes a mounting feature adapted to be secured to another component of the vehicle. A foot is formed on the first portion of the bracket. The foot defines an interface surface brazed to the heat exchanger in an installed position.

Condenser attachment bracket

An HVAC assembly including an HVAC case disposed in a passenger compartment of a vehicle includes a first air mix door. The first air mix door is movable between open and closed positions and adapted to adjust a temperature of air blown into a front passenger compartment. A second air mix door is movable between open and closed positions and adapted to adjust a temperature of air blown into a rear passenger compartment. The HVAC assembly further includes a motor and a mechanical linkage operably coupling the motor with the first and second air mix door whereby movement of the motor corresponds to movement of both the first and second air mix doors.
