A trim attachment system includes a light fixture housing and a first coiled spring bracket having a first coil section and a first elongated section. The first elongated section is positioned in the light fixture housing and attached to the light fixture housing, where the first coil section is attachable to a trim to pull up the trim toward an opening of the housing. The trim attachment system further includes a second coiled spring bracket having a second coil section and a second elongated section. The second elongated section is positioned in the light fixture housing and attached to the light fixture housing, where the second coil section is attachable to the trim to pull up the trim toward the opening of the housing.

A light fixture includes a housing, a light module, and a trim assembly. The trim assembly includes a trim body, an upper flange, and an adjustable collar attached to the upper flange. The adjustable collar can attach to the upper flange in a plurality of different positions easily permitting adjustment of the orientation of the trim assembly with respect to the housing.

A mounting system includes an upper collar, a first lower collar that is configured to magnetically couple a rimmed finishing section to a luminaire, and a second lower collar that is configured to magnetically couple a rimless finishing section to the recessed luminaire. The first lower collar is removably coupled to the upper collar when the rimmed finishing section is to be coupled to the recessed luminaire, and the second lower collar is removably coupled to the upper collar when the rimless finishing section is to be coupled to the recessed luminaire.

A system can comprise tabs and notches or a twist-and-lock mount for detachably mounting components adjacent a light emitting diode that is utilized for illumination, for example in a luminaire. Representative mounted components can include protective covers and optics for managing light emitted by the light emitting diode. The tabs and notches can be located rear of an aperture in a recessed lighting fixture or in a cover of a luminaire, for example. That cover, or another cover that may not utilize a releasable mount, can extend circumferentially about a periphery of a light emitting diode to cover and protect wiring for the light emitting diode and to hide the wiring from view by people occupying an illuminated space.

Mounting system for magnetic installation of varying finishing sections

An optical attachment feature of a light-emitting diode (LED) lighting system includes an enclosure, a trim, a reflector, and a diffuser. The enclosure can include an enclosure wall forming a cavity and an enclosure collar having a first profile. The trim can include a trim collar that abuts to the enclosure collar, wherein the trim collar has a second profile. The reflector can include an outer surface, an inner surface having reflective material disposed thereon, and a reflector collar having a first optical attachment mechanism. The diffuser can include a diffuser collar, where the diffuser collar can include a second optical attachment mechanism and a third optical attachment mechanism, where the second optical attachment mechanism can couple to the first optical attachment mechanism, and where the third optical attachment mechanism is disposed within a feature formed by the first profile and the second profile when the enclosure collar is mechanically coupled to the trim collar.

A connection to an electrical supply for a lighting system can be configured to facilitate deployment of the lighting system in a cramped space, for example in a shallow overhead plenum. The lighting system can comprise a housing for the light source. One or more sides of the housing can extend about the light source, for example circumferentially around the light source or otherwise laterally enclosing the light source. The electrical connection can be provided at a side of the housing, resulting in a low profile.

Compact system for connecting an electrical supply to a lighting system

A magnetic kicker reflector that is installed within a reflector of a downlight fixture to create a 'wall-wash' effect on one or more adjacent walls. The magnetic kicker reflector includes a proximal end, a distal end, a side surface extending from the proximal end to the distal end, and one or more magnets. The side surface includes an internal surface and an external surface. The magnets are coupled to or adjacent the external surface and faces substantially the same direction as the external surface. The proximal end, the distal end, and the side surface are formed having an arcuate length. The wall-wash assembly includes the kicker reflector, a reflector, and one or more bands coupled around and in contact with the outer surface of the reflector. The bands are in alignment with the magnets so that the kicker reflector is rotatable within the reflector and maintains attraction to the bands.

An adaptor band is flexible, C-shaped, and includes a torsion spring receiver. Additionally, the adaptor band includes one or more slots for receiving a screw to fasten the adaptor band to an internal surface of a pre-existing light housing. The adaptor band is compressed and inserted within the pre-existing housing that does not have torsion spring receivers already therein. Once inserted, the adaptor band is released, thereby expanding and pushing against the internal surface of the housing. The adaptor band is fastened to the internal surface of the housing without having to hold the adaptor band in a fixed position. The torsion spring receivers receive torsion springs coupled to other lighting components, including light modules and trim modules.

A luminaire includes a stationary heat sink and an LED module adjustably coupled to the stationary heat sink. The LED module is inserted into a cavity formed within the stationary heat sink and includes a slot therein. The slot includes a first and second end. According to some exemplary embodiments, a fastening device is inserted through the slot and fixedly coupled to an interior sidewall of the stationary heat sink. The LED module is directionally adjustable by sliding the slot between the ends with respect to the fixedly coupled fastening device. The LED module includes a second heat sink which is rotatable with respect to the stationary heat sink and maintains continuous contact with the stationary heat sink along the LED module's full rotational range. According to some exemplary embodiments, the first end is positioned lower than the second end. According to some exemplary embodiments, the slot is arcuately-shaped.
