An example lidar system includes a housing defining an interior space. The housing includes at least one optical window. The lidar system also includes a rotatable mirror assembly disposed within the interior space. The rotatable mirror assembly includes a transmit mirror portion and a receive mirror portion. The lidar system additionally includes a transmitter disposed within the interior space. The transmitter is configured to emit emission light into an environment of the lidar system along a transmit path. The lidar system also includes a receiver disposed within the interior space. The receiver is configured to detect return light that is received from the environment along a receive path. The lidar system additionally includes at least one optical baffle configured to minimize stray light in the interior space.

The present disclosure relates to devices, lidar systems, and vehicles that include optical redirectors. An example lidar system includes a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter includes at least one light-emitter device configured to transmit emission light into an environment of the lidar system. The receiver is configured to detect return light from the environment and includes a plurality of apertures, a plurality of photodetectors, and a plurality of optical redirectors. Each optical redirector is configured to optically couple a respective portion of return light from a respective aperture to at least one photodetector of the plurality of photodetectors. At least one of the optical redirectors includes an optically isolating coating.

In vivo visualization systems are described which facilitate tissue treatment by a user in utilizing real time visualized tissue images with generated three-dimensional models of the tissue region of interest, such as the left atrial chamber of a subject's heart. Directional indicators on the visualized tissue as well as the imaging systems may be utilized while other variations may utilize image rotation or manipulation of visualized tissue regions to facilitate catheter control. Moreover, visualized tissue regions may be combined with imaged tissue regions as well as navigational information to further facilitate tissue treatments.

In-vivo visualization systems

The present disclosure relates to systems and methods that provide an accurate angle measurement of a rotatable mirror. An example method includes receiving, from a detector device, a reflected light signal. The reflected light signal is indicative of primary reflection light and secondary reflection light. The primary reflection light corresponds to a first portion of emission light that reflects directly from the reflective surface of the rotatable mirror toward the detector device. The secondary reflection light corresponds to a second portion of emission light that: 1) reflects from the reflective surface of the rotatable mirror toward a secondary mirror surface; 2) reflects from the secondary mirror surface toward the reflective surface of the rotatable mirror; and 3) reflects from the reflective surface of the rotatable mirror toward the detector device. The method also includes determining, based on the reflected light signal, the rotational angle of the rotatable mirror.

A surgical system may comprise a display device and an endoscope. The surgical system may also include a processing device configured to operate the surgical system to perform a process comprising receiving a source image and receiving a gaze location of a user of the surgical system. The process may also comprise determining a first region of the source image based on the gaze location. A second region of the source image partially surrounds the first region and includes a source distortion. The process may also comprise applying a distortion correction to the source image to generate a modified image by applying a first degree of distortion correction in the first region and a second degree of distortion correction in the second region. The second degree of distortion correction preserves the source distortion in a portion of the second region. The process may also comprise displaying the modified image.

Example embodiments described herein involve a static dome assembly for light detection and ranging (LiDAR) systems. The system may include a base. At least one LiDAR system may be coupled to the base. The at least one LiDAR system may be configured to transmit and receive light having one or more wavelengths. The assembly may further include a housing encompassing the at least one LiDAR system. The housing may be statically coupled to the base. The housing may further include a dome. The dome may include a wall that is transparent to the one or more wavelengths. The wall may also include a high impact polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) material having an index of refraction of less than 1.55.

The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for occlusion detection. An example system includes a primary reflective surface and a rotatable mirror configured to rotate about a rotational axis. The rotatable mirror includes a plurality of secondary reflective surfaces. The system also includes an optical element and a camera that is configured to capture at least one image of the optical element by way of the primary reflective surface and at least one secondary reflective surface of the rotatable mirror.

Systems and methods for occlusion detection

An arc-detection system for detecting an arc during an electrocautery surgical procedure may comprise a camera portion and an image processing controller portion. The camera portion may be sized for minimally invasive penetration into a patient's body. The camera portion may comprise a wide-angle lens having a field of view wider than 45 degrees and wider than a field of view of a conventional endoscopic camera system. The image processing controller portion may be configured to monitor images captured by the camera portion and configured to detect thermal changes to tissue at the surgical site.

The present disclosure relates to systems and methods that utilize an internal optical path in lidar applications. An example method includes causing at least one light-emitter device to emit a plurality of light pulses toward a rotatable mirror. The rotatable mirror (i) reflects at least a first light pulse of the plurality of light pulses into an external environment; and (ii) reflects at least a second light pulse of the plurality of light pulses into an internal optical path. The method also includes receiving, by a photodetector, (i) a reflected light pulse comprising a reflection of the first light pulse caused by an object in the external environment; and (ii) the second light pulse received via the internal optical path. The internal optical path is defined at least in part by one or more internal reflectors that reflect the second light pulse toward the rotatable mirror such that the rotatable mirror reflects the second light pulse toward the photodetector.

System and methods utilizing optical feedback for zero-range measurement

A surgical cannula includes a camera disposed at the distal end to permit visualization of tissue. A hinge pivotably couples the camera to the cannula and permits the camera to pivot from a first position at the distal end of the cannula to a second position different than the first position at the distal end of the cannula. Some implementations include a pointed distal tip that carries the camera. Some implementations include two cameras posed back to back.

The present disclosure relates to devices, lidar systems, and vehicles that include optical redirectors. An example lidar system includes a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter includes at least one light-emitter device configured to transmit emission light into an environment of the lidar system. Each optical redirector element is configured to optically couple a respective portion of return light from a respective aperture to at least one photodetector of the plurality of photodetectors.

Systems and methods of presenting an image of a portion of a surgical scene on a display device associated with an endoscope include receiving, from the endoscope, a source image representing a view of the surgical scene as captured using the endoscope. The systems and methods further include devices configured to, by one or more processing devices, apply a distortion correction to at least a portion of the source image to generate a modified image, wherein the modified image includes a central region, and a peripheral region surrounding the central region, wherein a first degree of distortion correction in the central region is higher than a second degree of distortion correction in the peripheral region. The systems and methods further include devices configured to present the modified image on the display device associated with the endoscope.

An imaging system and method includes a rolling shutter sensor that captures a plurality of images of a scene, a time-varying illumination source that illuminates the scene, and a processor that receives the plurality of images from the rolling shutter sensor and separates the plurality of images into a plurality of feeds. Each of the plurality of images is captured as a series of lines. The rolling shutter sensor and the time-varying illumination source are operated synchronously to cause a plurality of on-cadence lines of the rolling shutter sensor to receive more illumination from the time-varying illumination source than a plurality of off-cadence lines of the rolling shutter sensor. Each of the plurality of feeds has a different contribution of the time-varying illumination source to an overall illumination of the scene.
