A ground bus subassembly provided at a top (e.g., top front) of a power distribution cabinet section. The ground bus subassembly includes a first upper front frame plate, and a first ground bus section adjacent to the first upper front frame plate. A splice can attach to the first ground bus section. A ground cover covering the first ground bus section can function as a hoist rail. Ground bus subassemblies with first and second cabinet sections and first and second ground bus sections are provided, as are methods of assembly of ground bus subassemblies.

Ground bus subassemblies, power distribution subassemblies, and assembly methods

A power distribution system includes a first bus including a first bus bar and a second bus bar. A first portion of the first bus is located in a position where the first bus bar and the second bus bar extend parallel to each other. A space is located between the first bus bar and the second bus bar in the first portion of the first bus. A run-over bus includes two or more run-over bus bars, wherein at least a cross-sectional portion of at least one of the run-over bus bars is located in the space and the at least one run-over bus bar extends parallel to the first bus bar and the second bus bar. Bus bar assemblies, power distribution systems, and methods

A bus bar assembly includes a first rail assembly including a first end and an adjacent first main body and a second rail assembly including a second end and an adjacent second main body. A splice splices the first end to the second end. The splice includes an outer plate wherein a portion of the outer plate is adjacent the first main body and a portion of the outer plate adjacent the second main body. The splice includes one or more inner plates, each having two or more extension tabs, wherein a first extension tab is adjacent the first rail assembly and a second extension tab is adjacent the second rail assembly. Power distribution system and methods of splicing are also disclosed.

A power distribution system comprising a bus bar, a frame member, a support block formed from a non-conductive material and having a first side and an opposite second side, one or more first fasteners extending beyond the second side and mechanically coupled to the bus bar, one or more second fasteners extending beyond the first side and mechanically coupled to the frame member, a first insulator located between the first side of the support block and the frame member, and a second insulator located between the second side of the support block and the bus bar. Other apparatus and methods are also disclosed.

A power distribution assembly includes a first lug pad electrically coupled to a first phase of a run-over bus and a first cradle including a horizontal portion, a first end having a first vertical portion coupled thereto, and a second end having a second vertical portion coupled thereto. The first lug pad is received on the horizontal portion. A support is coupled to the first vertical portion and one or more braces are coupled to the second vertical portion. Lug assemblies and lug and bus assemblies are disclosed, as are other aspects.

An electrical bus bar assembly including yoke brace apparatus providing support and maintaining a spacing distance D between electrical bus bars. The electrical bus bar assembly includes a first electrical bus bar, a second electrical bus bar spaced the distance D from the first electrical bus bar, and a yoke brace apparatus coupled between the first electrical bus bar and the second electrical bus bar. The yoke brace apparatus includes an insulating yoke brace spacer, a first yoke bracket coupled to the yoke brace spacer on a first end and also coupled to the first electrical bus bar, and a second yoke bracket coupled to the yoke brace spacer on a second end and also to the second electrical bus bar. A shutter device for a drawout circuit breaker. The arrangement includes first and second moveable plungers for contacting the circuit breaker. The arrangement also includes a first slider element attached to a moveable first mask. A first link arm is rotatably attached to the first plunger and the first slider element. The arrangement also includes a second slider element attached to a moveable second mask. A second link arm is rotatably attached to the second plunger and the second slider element. Movement of the first and second plungers in a first direction causes movement of the first and second slider elements and the first and second masks in a second direction transverse to the first direction relative to a back plate to form mask passageways. The arrangement also includes a plurality of mounting elements that enable movement of the back plate in the first direction.

Dual action shutter for drawout circuit breaker

A master electrical insulation barrier panel for use in a switchgear arrangement. The master electrical insulation barrier panel includes a plurality of optionally removable knock-out features, wherein each of the knock-out features has a peripheral edge. The peripheral edge includes a plurality of snapable tabs, wherein each snapable tab is separated by an opening configured to create a breakable weak link in a non-electrically conductive brittle material used for fabricating the master electrical insulation barrier wherein a weak link is associated with each of the optionally removable knock-out features. In addition, each of the optionally removable knock-out features corresponds to an optional opening for at least one possible electrical connection, such that at least one knock-out feature can be optionally removed from the master electrical insulation barrier panel during installation of the master electrical insulation barrier panel to create the optional opening for at least one electrical connection.
