A lighting system including monitoring of input power and output power parameters to a set of lighting loads to detect power faults and/or anomalies. The set of sensing circuits include primary side and secondary side sensing circuits that communicate with a set of monitoring circuits to process the information supplied by the sensing circuits. If a fault and/or anomaly is sensed or detected, a signal is transmitted to provide an alert.

Data acquisition methods and apparatus for a network connected LED driver

The disclosure is directed at a method and apparatus for configuring and powering light fixture loads for a LED low voltage distribution system. The method and apparatus include converting power being supplied for powering the set of light fixture loads and then limiting this converted power to a set of multiple current outputs supplied to the light fixture loads. The multiple current outputs are then split or regrouped prior to being delivered to the light fixture loads.

Configurable LED driver/dimmer for solid state lighting applications

A method and system for controlling and/or limiting inrush current is described. The system includes a buck converter section; a power factor conversion (PFC) boost converter section; and a storage capacitor section. In a first mode of operation, the boost converter section is disabled and the buck converter section is active and in a second mode of operation, the boost converter section is active and the buck converter section is disabled.

The disclosure is directed at a method and apparatus for controlling solid state lighting. The solid state lighting is controlled by the combination of a constant current reduction approach and a dithering approaching. The constant current reduction approach is used over a high light intensity range while the dithering approach is used over a low light intensity range.

There is provided a method of controlling solid state lighting (SSL) devices including receiving dimming information; translating the dimming information into SSL control information, the SSL control information including load/LED control information and dithering information; and transmitting the SSL control information to a current source for controlling the SSL devices for white light illumination. The driver also includes an apparatus for configuring the set of output current drivers to an output current set point and at least one power limit connected to the regulated output voltage bus.

The disclosure is directed at a configurable light emitting diode (LED) driver/dimmer for controlling a set of light fixture loads comprising: a power circuit; a primary digital controller for controlling the power circuit; a set of output current drivers, each of the set of output current drivers connected to one of the set of light fixture loads for controlling the associated light fixture load; a secondary digital controller for controlling the set of output current drivers; wherein the secondary controller transmits LED control information to control outputs of the set of output current drivers; and wherein the secondary digital controller provides digital feedback control information to the primary digital controller.

There is provided apparatus for controlling a set of light emitting diodes (LEDs) comprising at least one current source for powering the set of LEDs; a main controller for receiving dimming and/or color mixing information and for translating the information into LED control information and transmitting the LED control information to control the set of LEDs; wherein the LED control information is based on and off times.
