A magnetic switch can be configured to have or provide a variable, user-selectable radial flux pattern. In an example, the switch comprises a magnetized outer structure and a magnetized inner structure provided at least partially inside of the magnetized outer structure. In an example, at least one of the magnetized inner and outer structures is rotatable relative to the other one of the magnetized inner and outer structures about an axis of rotation that is common to the magnetized outer structure and magnetized inner structure. The radial flux pattern can extend away from the common axis of rotation and can vary in strength according to a relative position of the magnetized inner and outer structures. In other examples, the switch can comprise multiple layers of magnetized structures.

Radial magnetic switch

A filtration system interconnection structure having a filter manifold and a filter cartridge in magnetic communication with one another, such that a latching mechanism of the manifold secures the filter cartridge within a manifold sump when the filter cartridge is inserted therein. The magnetic communication is formed between two complementary coded polymagnets capable of producing a magnetic shear force when in close proximity to one another. The magnetic shear force removes a latch blocking structure from interfering with the latch, allowing the latch to secure the filter cartridge. Movement of the latch blocking structure coded polymagnet relative to the filter cartridge coded polymagnet may be perpendicular or parallel with respect to each other such that a shear force is generated therebetween, allowing for actuation of the latch blocking mechanism against a biasing force, and allowing the latch to move radially inwards against a separate biasing force.

Filter interconnects utilizing magnetic shear force generated by coded polymagnets

A filtration system interconnection structure having a filter manifold including a sump housing and a first correlated magnet located on or connected to a portion of the manifold, and a filter cartridge including a filter media, first and second end caps sealed to the filter media, and a second, paired correlated magnet located on or connected to the filter cartridge housing body. The first and second correlated magnets are interconnected via magnetic communication upon insertion of the filter cartridge into the sump housing, and upon movement of the filter cartridge into an alignment position, the correlated magnet located on or connected to the manifold is permitted to translate as a result of the magnetic communication. The polarity profiles of the paired correlated magnets are aligned such that a repulsion force is created when the filter cartridge is inserted within the manifold sump housing.

Filter interconnect utilizing correlated magnetic actuation for downstream system function

A filtration system interconnection structure having a filter manifold and a filter cartridge in magnetic communication with one another, such that a latching mechanism and latch blocking structure in the manifold secures the filter cartridge with a manifold sump when the filter cartridge is inserted within the manifold sump. The magnetic communication is formed between two complementary coded magnets capable of producing a magnetic shear force when in close proximity to one another. The magnetic shear force removes the latching blocking structure from interfering with the latch, allowing the latch to secure the filter cartridge. A dual-diaphragm loudspeaker driver assembly can include a multiple pole magnet structure, and first and second pole piece assemblies can be provided on opposite first and second sides of the multiple pole magnet structure. In an example, each pole piece assembly defines an airgap over a polarity transition region on a respective side of the magnet structure. First and second voice coils can be provided in respective ones of the airgaps, wherein each of the voice coils is coupled to a respective diaphragm assembly, and at least one acoustic tuning port can be configured to provide a damped acoustic communication path between first and opposite second sides of each diaphragm assembly.

A system for magnetizing magnetic sources into a rare earth permanent magnet material includes a first inductor coil, a second inductor coil, and at least one magnetizing circuit for supplying a first current having a first direction for a first duration to said first inductor coil to produce a first magnetic field and a second current having a second direction for a second duration to said second inductor coil to produce a second magnetic field. Systems and methods for producing magnetic structures

A magnet and coil assembly comprises a multi-pole magnetic structure, a coil, an object associated with the coil, and a circuitry for applying a current through the coil. The multi-pole magnetic structure comprises a plurality of magnetic source regions that each extend from a first side of said multi-pole magnetic structure to a second side of said multi-pole magnetic structure and include a first magnetic source region having a first polarity and a second magnetic source region having a second polarity. The multi-pole magnetic structure has a polarity transition region having a polarity transition boundary corresponding to an outer perimeter of the first magnetic source region where a magnetic field measured on the first side or the second side of said multi-pole magnetic field structure transitions from the first polarity to said second polarity. The coil is configured proximate to the first side of said multi-pole magnetic structure and about the polarity transition boundary. When the current travels in a first current direction through the coil the object moves in a first movement direction and when the current travels in a second current direction through the coil the object moves in a second movement direction.

System and method for tailoring polarity transitions of magnetic structures

The present disclosure generally pertains to systems and methods for passing timing information over packet networks. In one exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure, a transmitter inserts a timestamp into various packets being transmitted. A receiver determines the packet delay for each of these packets. The receiver monitors the packet delays of received packets over time to estimate a minimum packet delay for the network. Thereafter, the receiver uses the timestamps of received packets in order to update a local receiver clock signal so that the local receiver clock signal is synchronous to the clock signal used by the transmitter to generate the timestamps. However, the receiver filters the received timestamps such that the effects of packet delay variation to the synchronization of the local clock signals are reduced.

A (DS3) network interface unit (NIU) by-pass architecture places the NIU on its own circuit card and exclusive of by-pass switching (and relay) components, which are installed in the equipment shelf, proper, so that physical removal of the NIU card will leave the by-pass circuitry intact. A method and apparatus for adaptively adjusting the parameters of a timing loop based upon frequency errors between a data signal and a receiver's clock that is being used to sample the data signal are provided by the present invention. In accordance with the invention, the timing loop parameters are first set to an initial set of parameter values. A current frequency error between the data signal and the receiver's clock is calculated. The approximate average value of the frequency error is then determined. After a predetermined amount of time, the absolute value of the difference between the average frequency error and the current frequency error is examined. If the absolute value of the difference is less than a specified threshold, the timing loop parameters are reset to a second set of parameter values contained in a memory. The timing loop parameters are then reset to a third set of parameter values after a second interval of time. By adaptively adjusting the parameters of the timing loop based upon frequency errors, the present invention decreases the amount of time required for a receiver to train its timing loop to, and acquire timing from, a received data signal without introducing jitter into the signal.

Apparatus and method for adaptively adjusting a timing loop

A method and apparatus for removing glitches, interference or noise from a clock signal are provided by the present invention. In accordance with the invention, a glitch-ridden clock signal is monitored to determine when a transition in the glitch ridden clock signal occurs. When a transition occurs, a counter is initiated in accordance with a second high-speed clock signal. The value of this counter is compared to a compare value. The compare value is selected to approximately equal the expected period of the glitch-ridden clock signal. If the counter value equals the compare value, it is assumed that the transition was a valid transition and the transition is carried through and output as a glitch-free clock signal. However, if a transition occurs before the count value equals the counter compare value, it is assumed that the transition is invalid and no transition is carried to the glitch-free clock output. Thus, the present invention removes glitches from a received clock signal and outputs a glitch-free clock signal.
