A portable jig and fixture having at least one base plate, a column assembly removably coupled to the at least one base plate, a slide assembly removably coupled to the column assembly, a power feed head removably coupled to the slide assembly, and a spindle unit removably coupled with the slide assembly having a motor removably engaged it. At least one cutter assembly is removably engaged with the spindle unit and at least one drill jig is also removably engaged with the spindle unit. Also, a turbomachine having complementary structure on the compressor discharge casing can engage with the at least one base plate alignment mounting structure on the portable jig and fixture.

A fixture for restraining a wheel of a turbomachine has a dovetail section adapted for insertion into a dovetail slot of the wheel. A mounting section is located adjacent to, or formed integrally with, the dovetail section. At least one coupling ring is attached to the mounting section, and the coupling ring is adapted to be secured to a stationary anchoring point via a restraint. The stationary anchoring point includes at least one counterbore assembly having a coupling ring attached thereto. The counterbore assembly is adapted to be secured to a stationary structure. The stationary structure may be a shell, a flange or a casing of the turbomachine.

A turbomachine rotor blade milling machine system includes a fixture having a body including first and second opposing surfaces and a slot. The fixture is configured and disposed to connect with first and second rotor blade sections mounted in a rotor wheel. A mounting system includes at least one mounting element coupled to one of the first and second opposing surfaces of the body at the slot. A milling machine is coupled to the one of the first and second opposing surfaces through the at least one mounting element. The milling machine includes a cutter and is configured and disposed to form an opening extending axially through a dovetail portion of a third rotor blade section arranged between the first and second rotor blade sections.

A system for repairing dovetail slots includes a slot adaptor having a body configured and disposed to nest between first and second side walls of a dovetail slot, and a tool holder configured to be coupled with the slot adaptor. The tool holder includes a tool guidance system configured and disposed to direct a tool into contact with one of the first and second side walls of the dovetail slot. A cutting tool is mounted in the tool holder. The cutting tool includes a tapered surface configured and disposed to form a tapered recess in the one of the first and second side walls of the dovetail slot.

A turbine servicing device includes a base member mountable proximate an inlet of a section of a turbine system. Also included is a retaining component operatively coupled to the base member. Further included is a rod having a first end and a second end, the rod in a slidable and pivotable relationship with the retaining component. Various embodiments include alignment apparatuses and associated methods for use on a turbine (e.g., a gas turbine). In various particular embodiments, an apparatus for aligning an unfixed inlet guide vane (IGV) adjacent a fixed IGV in a gas turbine. In some cases the apparatus includes: a first wedge member for interfacing with the fixed IGV; a second wedge member movably coupled with the first wedge member, the second wedge member for interfacing with the unfixed IGV; and an adjustment apparatus coupled to the first wedge member and the second wedge member, the adjustment apparatus for modifying a position of the second wedge member relative to the first wedge member to actuate movement of the unfixed IGV relative to the fixed IGV.

Inlet guide vane alignment apparatus and method

Apparatuses and methods for servicing a turbine are disclosed. Various embodiments of the invention include an apparatus adapted to service a turbine, where that apparatus includes: a base member fixedly mountable on an inlet of the turbine; an adjustment system mounted on the base member; a machining device operably connected to a first end of the adjustment system; and a control member operably connected to a second end of the adjustment system, the control member adapted to modify a position of the machining device to service a portion of the turbine inside the inlet of the turbine.
