Methods and systems are provided for operating an engine having a plurality of cylinders that utilize oil for lubrication purposes. In one embodiment, a method for the engine may include determining if one or more conditions have been met for port heating based on one or more operating conditions of the engine, continuing current operation if the one or more conditions for port heating have not been met, and determining a souping level of the engine if the one or more conditions for port heating have been met and subsequently running port heating on a set of cylinders of the engine based on the souping level of the engine and/or the one or more conditions for port heating. The engine may be a non-EGR engine and/or a high speed diesel engine. Each cylinder of the set of cylinders may have at least one port.

Port heating system and method

A system and method are provided for an internal combustion engine. An engine system, in one example, includes a cylinder liner positioned within an opening of a crankcase, including a surface biasing a landing surface of an undercut fillet of the crankcase, and including a cylinder opening and a seal arranged in a groove of the cylinder liner positioned axially above the undercut fillet. The engine system further includes a fluid gasket and a combustion gasket positioned between a cylinder head and the crankcase, the fluid gasket and the combustion gasket being decoupled from one another.

Systems are provided for a thermostat housing positioned in an internal combustion engine system. In one example, the internal combustion engine system may include the thermostat housing and one or more thermostat valves positioned within the thermostat housing, wherein the thermostat housing may include a plurality of plate configurations. In some examples, the plurality of plate configurations may include an upper plate configuration and a lower plate configuration. The upper plate configuration may include an upper plate coupled to an upper flange of a casing of the thermostat housing. The lower plate configuration may include a lower plate coupled to a lower partition of the casing of the thermostat housing. In some examples, the upper and lower plate configurations may include a plurality of openings defined fit to the one or more thermostat valves.

Systems and methods for engine coalescer exhaust extraction are provided. In one embodiment, a system comprises an engine including a crankcase fluidly coupled to a coalescer, a muffler adapted to receive combustion exhaust gases from the engine, and a coalescer exhaust passage fluidly coupling the coalescer to the muffler. The coalescer exhaust passage includes an inlet arranged upstream of the muffler adapted to flow a motive fluid to the coalescer exhaust passage to increase a flow speed of coalescer exhaust through the coalescer exhaust passage.

In one example, a valve bridge comprises a first arm, a longitudinally opposing second arm, and one or more interior walls forming a passage extending laterally through at least a portion of the valve bridge, the passage disposed between the first arm and second arm and forming a first main opening and an opposing, second main opening. A central support structure is disposed within the passage and is formed by the one or more interior walls.
