In one embodiment, a system includes a number of application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs). At least one of the ASICs is configured to process incoming data packets and outgoing data packets. At least one of the ASICs is configured to move data between a respective networking module and a destination networking module. The system also includes a cable backplane having a number of parallel cables configured to transmit data between the number of ASICs.

Modular chassis with fabric integrated into the line card

A wireless power transmitting device may transmit wireless power signals to a wireless power receiving electronic device. The electronic device may have a coil that receives the transmitted wireless power signals and may have a power receiving circuit that rectifies the received wireless power signals to produce a corresponding direct-current voltage signal. The direct-current signal may be used to power circuitry in the electronic device and may be used to charge a battery in the electronic device. Control circuitry in the electronic device may use a temperature sensor to make temperature measurements. In response to detecting that the device is below a given threshold temperature and based on other information such as information on which applications are running on a controller in device, the device may supply drive current signals to the coil to heat the battery and improve battery performance.

In one embodiment, a system includes a number of application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs). The system also includes one or more processors coupled to the ASICs including instructions executable by the processors. The processors being operable when executing the instructions to configure the plurality of ASICs to route data packets using a standard protocol; configure the ASICs to set up a tunnel, using the standard protocol, for moving data packets from one ASIC to another of the number of ASICs; and implement a software overlay to facilitate interaction between the number of ASICs through the tunnel for moving the data packets.

In one embodiment, a system includes a number of networking modules. Each module includes a respective voltage controller and a voltage-configuration circuit. The voltage-configuration circuit includes a number of transistors that are each coupled to a respective resistor. The system also includes one or more processors coupled to the voltage controllers including instructions executable by the processors. The processors being operable when executing the instructions to configure, for each module, an on-state or off-state of the transistors coupled to the respective resistor. The transistors coupled to the respective resistor correspond to a bit of a number of under-voltage thresholds. The processors are also operable to preset, during a module initialization, a relative ranking of under-voltage shutdown between the modules by setting the transistors. At least one of the number of networking modules has a different under-voltage threshold level relative to another one of the networking modules.

Priority based power-off during partial power loss

The subject matter of the disclosure relates to low temperature power throttling at a mobile device to reduce the likelihood of an unexpected power down event in cold weather environments. A mobile device employing a power management solution may be configured to determine that a monitored temperature at the mobile device (at the battery of the mobile device) is below a first threshold level, and whether a hardware component (such as a camera) is active or inactive. Then, based on these determinations, the mobile device can select a throttle setting from a first set of throttle settings when the hardware component is active, and a second set of throttle settings when the hardware component is inactive. Subsequently the mobile device can throttle power consumption for one or more components of the mobile device according to the selected throttle setting.
