A thin section bearing assembly is for a gantry assembly and includes inner and outer rings each having inner and outer circumferential surfaces and rolling elements grooves and are each sized such that a ratio of the inside diameter to radial thickness is at least thirty (30). A plurality of rolling elements, preferably balls, are disposed between the outer ring groove and the inner ring groove. At least one elastomeric annular damper is disposed between the outer ring and the housing and/or between the inner ring and the rotor and has first and second axially spaced sections. As such, the first section is compressed more than the second section under bending moments in a first angular direction and the second section is compressed more than the first section under moments in a second angular direction. The one or more annular dampers each have a thickness calculated to optimize vibration reduction.

A cleaning apparatus for cleaning a surface in which cleaning solution is dispensed to the surface and substantially simultaneously extracted along with the dirt on the surface in a continuous operation is provided. The cleaning apparatus includes a base portion for movement along the surface and a handle pivotally connected to the base portion. The handle includes a lower portion and an upper portion pivotally connected to the lower portion and pivoted between an upper position for use and a lower position for storage. A solution tank for supplying a flow of cleaning solution to the surface is removably mounted to one of the base portion and the handle. A recovery tank removably mounted to one of the base portion and the handle and is in fluid communication with a suction nozzle secured to said base portion. A suction source is in fluid communication with the suction nozzle for generating suction to draw dirt and liquid through the suction nozzle and into the recovery tank, wherein one of the solution tank and the recovery tank is removably mounted to the handle.

Handle assembly for a cleaning apparatus

A cleaning apparatus for cleaning a surface in which cleaning solution is dispensed to the surface and substantially simultaneously extracted along with the dirt on the surface in a continuous operation is provided. In one aspect of the invention, the cleaning apparatus includes a housing and a recovery tank removably mounted to the housing. A solution tank for supplying a flow of cleaning solution to the surface is removably mounted to the housing. A suction nozzle is secured to the housing and is in fluid communication with the recovery tank. A suction source is in fluid communication with the suction nozzle for generating suction to draw dirt and liquid through the suction nozzle and into the recovery tank. A first latch is operatively connected to the solution tank to releasably latch the solution tank to the housing and a second latch is operatively connected to the recovery tank to releasably latch the recovery tank to said housing, wherein the second latch is in close proximity to the first latch.

Tank latching arrangement for a cleaning apparatus

First and second C-shaped clamping members are provided to engage a ladder and a roof rack. One of the clamping members is mounted on an actuator rod, the other on an actuator housing. A pistol grip handle and trigger mechanism enable the two clamping members to be ratcheted into secure clamping engagement with the two items. A quick release plate allows the clamp to be easily opened for disengagement. In a second embodiment, a compression spring draws the two clamping members together when the quick release plate is engaged.

A toe cap is a reinforcement member made of thermoset structural composite material with a tensile strength of 30,000 psi, a tensile modulus of 2.5&times;10 psi, a compression strength of 35,800 psi, a specific gravity of 1.85, and a Barcol hardness of 65. More preferably, the material has a tensile strength of at least 50,000 psi, a tensile modulus of at least 3.8&times;10 psi, a compression strength of at least 42,000 psi, a specific gravity of at least 1.90, and a Barcol hardness of at least 70. A suitable family of materials is a thermoset vinyl ester based sheet molding compound reinforced with glass fiber and/or carbon fiber. The sheet molding compound has fiber content of about 63% and a typical fiber length of one inch. The maximum wall thickness of the upper portion of the toe cap is in the range of between 0.100 inch and 0.250 inch.

Plastic toe cap and method of making

An applicator for dispensing tape, with the tape having an adhesive on at least one face. The applicator includes a shell with a pivotably attached door. A tape cartridge is received within the door. The cartridge supports a roll of the tape, and a leading edge of the tape extends outwardly from the roll. A partial cylindrical cover member is connected to the first end of the shell for pivotable movement thereabout along a predetermined path to cover the first passageway. A slider having a first end which is pivotally connected to the cover member and having a button which extends through a first slot in the shell is movable between a first position, in which the cover member covers the first passageway, and a second position, in which the cover member is removed from the first passageway. A cutter actuator is located on the slider and is movable in response to inward pressure on the button when the slider is in the second position. A cutting tool is pivotally connected to the shell. The cutting tool is movable from a first position to a second position, in which the cutting instrument extends through the first passageway, by the application of inward pressure to the button on the slider.

The cutting tool is movable from a first position to a second position, in which the cutting instrument extends through the first passageway, by the application of inward pressure to the button on the slider.
