A seal comprising a sealing ring () and a slide ring () wherein the slide ring () is provided on the side of the sealing ring () that faces the surface to be sealed. The sealing ring () and the slide ring () are designed in one piece by molding the sealing ring () to the slide ring () in a mold cavity that forms the slide ring into a cylindrical shape.
