An industrial machine includes a frame having a base and a boom, an arm movably coupled to the boom, an attachment, a conduit, a first member, and a second member. The boom has a first end coupled to the base and a second end opposite the first end. The arm includes a first end and a second end. The attachment is coupled to the first end of the arm. The conduit extends from the frame to the arm. The first member is pivotably coupled to the frame and supports a first portion of the conduit as the arm moves relative to the boom. The second member is pivotably coupled between the first member and the arm, and supports a second portion of the conduit as the arm moves relative to the boom.

Systems and methods for providing feedback to an operator of an industrial machine. One system includes a controller including an electronic processor. The electronic processor is configured to monitor at least one operating parameter of the industrial machine, determine a plurality of performance metrics based on the at least one operating parameter, and select a subset of the plurality of performance metrics based on a selection criterion. The electronic processor is also configured to display the subset of the plurality of performance metrics to an operator of the industrial machine during operation of the industrial machine.

Systems and methods are described for monitoring a condition of a mine roof using a longwall mining system. A plurality of powered roof supports is controlled to apply an adjustable support pressure on a mine roof. A condition of the mine roof is monitored based on the adjustable support pressure applied to the roof by a respective actuator of each powered roof support. In some implementations, the condition of the mine roof is monitored by generating and analyzing a graphical pressure map based on the adjustable support pressure applied by each powered roof support and a relative position of a shearer moving across the mine face. In some implementations, roof collapse events are detected based on temporally similar changes in the adjustable support pressure applied by multiple adjacent powered roof supports as indicated by the graphical pressure map.

Systems and methods for monitoring longwall mine roof stability

A mining shovel including a base, a boom, a first member moveably coupled to the boom, a bucket, and a pivot actuator. The base includes a hoist drum for paying out and reeling in a hoist rope. The boom includes a first end coupled to the base and a second end opposite the first end. The hoist rope extends over the second end of the boom. The first member includes a first end and a second end. The bucket is pivotably coupled to the second end of the first member. The pivot actuator moves the bucket relative to the second end of the first member, and the pivot actuator includes a first end coupled to the first member.

The method may include determining an operating phase of the industrial machine, in a first operating phase of the industrial machine, limiting, with at least one controller, a reach of the dipper handle, and in a second operating phase of the industrial machine, enabling, with the at least one controller, an extended reach of the dipper handle greater than the reach in the first operating phase. The industrial machine may include at least one controller configured to determine an operating phase of the industrial machine, in a first operating phase of the industrial machine, limit a reach of the dipper handle, and, in a second operating phase of the industrial machine, enable an extended reach of the dipper handle greater than the reach in the first operating phase.

A roller circle assembly for heavy machinery includes an upper circular rail and a lower circular rail concentrically arranged about a central axis, and tapered rollers between the upper and lower rail. Each tapered roller includes a flange having an angled and convex flange contact surface that contacts the lower rail. The lower rail and/or the upper rail can include an angled surface configured for contact with the flange contact surface. The geometry of the rollers and the lower rail are configured to reduce the stresses applied to the rollers and lower rail due to contact between the flange contact surface and the angled surface.

The bail assembly includes a first end pivotably coupled to the dipper and a second end coupled to the hoist rope passing over the boom. The pitch brace includes a first end pivotably coupled to the bail assembly and a second end pivotably coupled to the member.

The elongated member is pivotable about a shaft positioned between the first end and the second end of the boom. The support member biases the boom against pivoting movement about the boom pivot axis, and the support member extends between the base and the boom.

The reel system also includes a first clamp having a first width and a second clamp having a second width greater than the first width, wherein the first clamp and the second clamp engage the plurality of ledges as the reel is rotated.

Controlling a digging operation of an industrial machine. The industrial machine includes a dipper, a crowd motor, and a hoist motor. The control includes determining a torque associated with the crowd motor and a torque associated with the hoist motor and determining a dig force vector for the dipper based on the torque associated with the crowd motor and the torque associated with the hoist motor. The dig force vector includes a dig force angle and a dig force magnitude. The method also includes determining a value for the dig force angle of the dig force vector, and controlling, using a processor, the dig force magnitude based on the determined value for the dig force angle. The dig force magnitude is controlled by controlling at least one of the torque associated with the crowd motor and the torque associated with the hoist motor.
