A method is provided for blending device-based recommendations. A request is received from a device to recommend a group activity for a plurality of individuals. A plurality of device user profiles is accessed, each device user profile associated with one of the individuals. At least one group activity is recommended based on applying a plurality of rules to the device user profiles. The at least one recommended group activity is output to the device.

Blending device-based recommendations

A mobile device having a time controlled electronic wallet is disclosed. The mobile device comprises a processor and an electronic wallet application that executes on the processor. The electronic wallet application enters a ready-to-pay mode, initiates a ready-to-pay timer when entering the ready-to-pay mode, transmits the confidential information when in the ready-to-pay mode based on receiving contactless communication, and leaves the ready-to-pay mode when the ready-to-pay timer expires.

A communications device dynamic interface system is provided. The system comprises an at least one communications device and a dynamic interface application, that when executed on the at least one communications device, arranges a plurality of selectable, viewable panes in a virtual carousel format. The system also changes the viewing sequence of the panes on demand and places less frequently viewed panes in a background area of the interface. A computer implemented method for user interface navigation engine is provided. A number of items to display is determined based on an interface screen parameter. The number of items is displayed based on the numerical position on a list selected for display. A displayed item is highlighted, wherein a position of the highlighted displayed item on a screen indicates a position relation of the displayed number of items to the count of items in the list.

A method, system, and medium are provided for allowing a user to scroll through a list of items on a display, such as contacts, pictures, or other files, at variable speeds, which provides for fast, yet accurate scrolling. The user provides an indication to scroll through the list of items, such as pressing and dragging or flicking through the list. This indication may include a starting point and ending point at a certain location on the display. Depending on where the user provides this indication on the display, a scroll speed is determined at which to scroll through the list of items. As the indication of a scroll action progresses from one side of a display to the other, the scrolling speed increases such that the exact same scroll action corresponds to differing scrolling speeds, depending on the position of the user's indication of a scroll action on the display.

One or more media is provided for performing a method of operating an electronic locking mechanism. Initially, a request from a requesting mobile device is received at a computing device via a sensing device. The request includes an identifier utilized in an initial validation sequence having the following steps: identifying a device identity according to the identifier, transmitting the device identity with a request that a message be communicated to a target mobile device, and determining validation data. Upon receiving the request, a communications network identifies the target mobile device, based on the device identity, and communicates a message with validation data therein. The mobile device conveys authentication information to the computing device, where the authentication information is based on the validation data. The computing device compares the authentication information against the determined validation data to determine whether the targeted mobile device is authorized to operate the electronic locking mechanism.

A method and system for linking information from a mobile telephony device with an electronic file are disclosed. At least some of the illustrative embodiments may be a method comprising a computer system performing an operation on an electronic file and determining that the computer system is proximate to a first mobile telephony device. The method also comprises determining information about the first mobile telephony device, linking at least some of the information from the first mobile telephony device with the electronic file on the computer system, and storing the electronic file and the information linked with the electronic file in a memory device.

The method comprises an authentication server providing a client device access to a network via association with a virtual local area network and a credential. The method also comprises the device invoking an application hosted on an application server and the application server identifying a virtual local area network tag associated with the device. The method also comprises the application server sending a message to the authentication server requesting linkage of the tag with a user identification associated with the device. The method also comprises the authentication server linking the tag with the user identification associated with the device and sending a message to the application server containing the identification. The method also comprises the application server using the identification to authenticate the device with the application and the device receiving access.

Application single sign on leveraging virtual local area network identifier

System and methods are provided for handset diagnostics. A dialer component intercepts a connection request associated with an entered number, and determines whether the entered number is associated with a specified service. If the entered number is associated with the specified service, a service component presents service options on a user interface of the handset, receives a selection of at least one of the service options, determines handset data based on the selection, and wirelessly communicates the handset data to a server associated with the entered number. The service component may connect the handset to the entered number, wherein the server may promote providing the specified service based on the communicated handset data. Alternatively, the service component may send a message to the user interface to indicate that the server provides the specified service based on the communicated handset data.
