A patient support apparatus comprises a patient support deck and a base frame assembly. The base frame assembly comprises a first frame assembly supporting a plurality of wheels, and a second frame assembly supporting one or more lift arms that are coupled to the patient support deck to the second frame assembly. A load cell assembly is interposed between the first and second frame assemblies to sense force acting on the first frame assembly associated with weight applied to the second frame assembly. The load cell assembly comprises: a load cell element coupled to one of the first frame assembly and the second frame assembly; a first pivot mount operatively attached to the load cell element; a second pivot mount operatively attached to the other of the first frame assembly and the second frame assembly; and a swing link arranged for pivoting movement.

Patient support apparatus with load cell assemblies

A patient support, such as a bed, a cot, a stretcher, or the like, for supporting an occupant includes sensors adapted to detect a status of the patient support, such as the width of the width-adjustable patient support component or the locked or unlocked state of the patient support component. A control system for the patient support is configured to determine if the patient support is in an unacceptable status, such as an unacceptable width configuration or an unlocked state, based on the sensed status. The control system is adapted to issue an alert or take action or prompt a caregiver to take an action if the patient support status is unacceptable.

Patient support with deck width monitoring and control

A patient support may be adjustable in height, width, length or a combination thereof. The patient support may be usable with normal sized patients or with bariatric patients. The patient support has a variety of features to enhance operability and/or functionality, including a width adjustable caster frame, width adjustable deck portions, a width adjustable headboard and an extendible foot board to provide extra length. An enhanced lift mechanism can accommodate bariatric patients and alternative functionality in achieving deck positions improves patient comfort. Various parts of the patient support including deck panels and the footboard may be removed and replaced with ease without complicated connectors.

Patient support usable with bariatric patients

A patient support includes a height adjustable patient support deck, at least one guard structure mounted for movement relative to the patient support deck, and a latch operable to lock the position of the guard structure in a raised position. The patient support further includes a CPR release operable to lower the head deck section of the patient support deck to place the patient support in an emergency state and further operable to release the latch to allow the guard rail structure to lower or be lowered from the raised position.

A patient support apparatus for traversing objects supported on ground surfaces. The patient support apparatus comprises a patient support deck, and a base to support the patient support deck from the ground surface. At pair of caster wheel assemblies spaced from each other are coupled to the base for pivoting movement about respective pivot axes cooperating to define a reference plane. A frame guard coupled to the base defines first and second ramp surfaces each disposed at an angle relative to the reference plane. The first ramp surface is arranged to engage objects before they contact one or more of the caster wheels when the patient support apparatus moves in a first direction. The second ramp surface is arranged to engage objects before they contact one or more of the caster wheels when the patient support apparatus moves in an opposite, second direction.

Patient support apparatus with frame guard

A patient support includes a height adjustable patient support deck, at least one guard structure mounted relative to the patient support deck along a side of the patient support, with the guard structure movable both vertically and laterally along the side of the patient support, and the guard structure positionable beneath at least the patient support deck. The patient support further includes a control system configured to determine whether the guard structure is located beneath the patient support deck and to enable or disable a function of the patient support and/or to adjust a parameter of the patient support when the guard structure is located beneath the patient support deck.

A patient support apparatus comprises a base, a support frame, and a patient support deck. The patient support deck comprises articulating deck sections, such as a leg section and a foot section pivotally coupled to the leg section. A support link is arranged to support the foot section relative to the support frame. A leg section actuator is configured to move the leg section between a lowered position and one or more raised positions. A foot section adjustment device is configured to move the support link in order to move the foot section relative to the leg section. The support link has a first link end pivotally coupled to the foot section and a second link end slidably coupled to the support frame.

Patient support apparatus with adjustable foot section

There is disclosed a fluid treatment device comprising a housing for receiving a flow of fluid. The housing comprises a fluid inlet, a fluid outlet, a closed fluid treatment zone disposed between the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet. Disposed in the housing is at least one elongate radiation source assembly having a longitudinal axis disposed in the fluid treatment zone substantially parallel to a direction of the flow of fluid through the housing. The radiation source assembly comprises an elongate radiation source disposed in a protective sleeve to define a substantially annular passageway. The protective sleeve has opposed open ends configured to permit heat to exit the passageway and the housing through at least one of the opposed open ends of the sleeve.
