Methods, systems, and devices for reducing the impact of a jamming signal on wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for receiving a first signal at a first antenna and receiving a second signal at a second antenna. An anti-jammer manager may process the first signal and the second signal to obtain a residual signal. The processing may include determining a weighting factor based at least in part on a correlation between the first signal and the second signal, applying the weighting factor to the first signal to create a weighted first signal, and subtracting the weighted first signal from the second signal to obtain the residual signal. A demodulator may demodulate the residual signal to obtain symbol information. A decoder may decode the symbol information to obtain data. The techniques may be used to recover a desired signal portion from a jammed signal.

Interference and jammer cancellation for radios

Disclosed is a Link 16 terminal having a receiver and a transmitter. The receiver may be configured to process received signals in a receive mode to produce digitized samples, which may then be processed in a digital signal processor. The transmitter may be configured to produce a transmit signal that is provided to an antennas for transmission during transmit mode. The transmit signal may also be provided to the receiver in transmit mode to produce digitized samples of the transmit mode, may then be processed in a digital signal processor for compliance with requirements for Link 16 transmissions.

Systems and methods for monitoring electromagnetic compatibility

A transceiver having substantially improved capacity and interference mitigation. The transceiver comprises a first direct conversion receiver (DCR) and a plurality of additional DCRs, each of the plurality of additional DCRs having essentially identical constituent components to the first DCR. Each DCR does a direct down-conversion from RF to a complex pair of baseband I and Q components. The complex signal pair from each DCR is digitized and further processed in a modem module where the signal is optimally filtered, demodulated, and error-corrected. The modem module reconstructs the message information contained in each signal from all of the DCR's, simultaneously providing the demodulated data that was contained in the RF signals. The dynamic range of the system is extremely large (i.e., approximately 80 dB).

Transceiver architecture with improved capacity and interference mitigation

Wireless communication techniques for cellular deployment of wireless communication systems with transmitters in each cell to have partially overlapped transmission patterns between two adjacent transmitters. Implementations of the described techniques can provide transmit diversity with intentional partial beam pattern overlays to improve cell sectorization or frequency re-use factor, at the same time, reduce intra-cell and inter-cell interference. Various modulations may be used in the described systems, including FDMA, TDMA, and OFDMA modulation schemes.

Subcarrier cluster-based power control in wireless communications

Techniques of selective demodulation of downlink frames using a subscriber description segment or activity descriptor to identify one or more subscriber stations to which at least a portion of data placed in the downlink frame is addressed in wireless communication systems such as frame-based point-to-multipoint wireless communication systems. The described techniques can be used to reduce power consumption at each subscriber station and to elongate the battery time of mobile devices, especially in the bursty Internet data transmission. The subscriber station can use information in the subscriber description segment or activity descriptor to decide whether to turn off receiver power for the remainder of a received downlink frame.

Selective demodulation of downlink traffic in wireless communication systems

Techniques for generating preamble sequences for OFDM and OFDMA communication systems based on CAZAC sequences with desired properties of constant amplitudes (CA) and zero autocorrelation (ZAC). Such preamble sequences may be used for synchronization and identification of individual transmitters. For example, the OFDMA symbol is constructed using a CAZAC sequence in the frequency-domain and the resulting time-domain waveform is a near-CAZAC sequence.

Transmission and reception of reference preamble signals in OFDMA or OFDM communication systems

Techniques for fast cell search, selection and reselection for wireless communication systems such as OFDM or OFDMA communication systems. In various implementations of the described techniques, downlink subframes from base stations to mobile stations are designed to include information in form of preambles or post-ambles in one or more downlink subframes to facilitate cell search at receiving mobile stations at high speeds. The described preambles and post-ambles may also be used to improve the accuracy of signal synchronization in time and frequency.
