A hydraulic system is provided. The hydraulic system may include a fluid pressure source in fluid communication with a supply line, a return line in fluid communication with a tank, a hydraulic function having a workport, a first control valve having a first proportional solenoid, a second control valve having a second proportional solenoid, and a controller. The controller being configured to selectively energize the first proportional solenoid, the second proportional solenoid, or the first proportional solenoid and the second proportional solenoid to control a system pressure differential, defined between the return line and the workport, within a range that is defined by a sum of a first predefined range defined by the first control valve and a second predefined range defined by the second control valve.

Hydraulic systems and methods for nested pressure regulating valves

An apparatus has a pilot-operated spool valve connecting first and second work passages selectively to a supply conduit and a tank conduit. A first check valve normally allows fluid flow only in one direction from the first work passage to a first workport and when pilot-operated allows bidirectional fluid flow. A second check valve normally allows fluid flow only from the second work passage to a second workport and when pilot-operated allows bidirectional fluid flow. A first pilot valve selectively applies pressure to one end of the spool and to pilot operate the first check valve. A second pilot valve selectively applies pressure to another end of the spool and to pilot operate the second check valve. When fluid drains from a workport to the tank conduit, the associated check valve operates to maintain a predefined pressure in the first or second work passage through which that fluid flows.

Hydraulic valve assembly with tank return flow compensation

A system for operating a single acting hydraulic cylinder includes a directional valve that has one extreme position in which a workport is connected to a tank return conduit, another extreme position where the workport is connected to a pump supply conduit, and a closed intermediate a position where the workport is disconnected from both the pump and the tank. The directional valve is pilot operated and is biased toward the one extreme position by a spring. An electrically operated primary applies pilot pressure to the directional valve alternately from the pump supply conduit and the tank return conduit. A pilot operated check valve has a first state which restricts fluid flow only from the workport toward the chamber and a second state in which fluid can flows from the chamber to the workport. The system has a pressure compensation that also provides self priming of the directional valve.

Valve control valve circuit for operating a single acting hydraulic cylinder

A hydraulic valve assembly includes a pressure compensating valve in which a compensator spool is slideably received in a bore. A pre-compensator gallery connected to a metering orifice, a preload gallery leading to a hydraulic actuator, an auxiliary pump supply passage, and a load sense passage all open into the bore. The compensator spool moves in response to a pressure differential between the pre-compensator gallery and the load sense passage. That movement selectively opens and closes a first path between the pre-compensator gallery and the a preload gallery, and a second path between the auxiliary supply passage and the load sense passage. Control of these paths maintains a constant pressure drop across the metering orifice and generates a pressure signal that is employed to regulate pressure at an outlet of a pump.

Hydraulic control valve system with isolated pressure compensation

A spool valve section for a multiple valve assembly has a body with two opposing side surfaces. A plurality of mating surfaces are raised from each side surface. The mating surfaces surround the openings of fluid passages through the section and apertures for fasteners that secure the assembly together. The mating surfaces are spaced from a region of each side surface that is adjacent a bore in the body that receives a control spool. The fluid passages also are spaced from and do not intersect the spool bore. These characteristics of the spool valve section reduce distortion of the spool bore which could otherwise result from the pressure and fastening forces in the valve assembly.
