A back plate for a breathing apparatus comprises a back plate frame for supporting a cylinder of breathable gas; and a pressure reduction valve configured to receive breathing gas from a cylinder of breathable gas; and a resiliently deformable element configured to support the pressure reduction valve on the back plate frame so as to permit relative movement between the pressure reduction valve and the back plate frame.

Disclosed is an adjustable support frame for a breathing apparatus having an adjustable longitudinal dimension and a user-facing side configured to substantially overlay a user's back in use, the adjustable support frame comprising: a first frame portion and a second frame portion, the first and second frame portions being moveable relative to each other so as to adjust the longitudinal dimension; an adjustment mechanism having a locked configuration which inhibits relative movement of the first and second frame portions and an unlocked configuration which permits relative movement of the first and second frame portions; wherein the adjustment mechanism comprises one or more actuating elements which are operable to actuate the adjustment mechanism from the locked configuration to the unlocked configuration, the one or more actuating elements being provided on a surface which is substantially perpendicular to the user-facing side of the support frame.

Adjustable support frame for a breathing apparatus

Disclosed herein are connection apparatus for connecting breathing gas delivery components of a breathing apparatus. The connection apparatus comprises a male connector configured to be received in a corresponding female port, the male connector comprising a perimeter wall defining an external shape of the male connector. In some examples, the male connector defines an insertion axis along which the male connector is receivable into a corresponding female port, and a distal edge of the perimeter wall defines a distal face of the perimeter wall and at least a portion of the distal face is inclined with respect to the insertion axis of the male connector. In some examples, the perimeter wall comprises first and second wall portions which taper together such that a first edge of the first wall portion and a first edge of the second wall portion are connected at an apex portion.

There is disclosed a connection apparatus for connecting breathing gas delivery components of a breathing apparatus, comprising: a male connector configured to be received in a corresponding female port, the male connector comprising a perimeter wall defining an external shape of the male connector and enclosing a gas conduit. The perimeter wall comprises a distal portion defining a first cross-sectional area of the male connector, a proximal portion defining a second cross-sectional area of the male connector larger than the first cross-sectional area, and a tapered portion formed between the proximal portion and the distal portion.

A temperature control garment arranged to be worn on a user's torso including a bladder defining a chamber for receiving a supply of gas, the bladder including a back portion which is arranged to overlie at least a portion of a user's back. An arrangement of holes is provided in the bladder for directing gas supplied to the chamber towards the user's body so as to modify the temperature of the user's body. The garment also includes a breathing duct coupled to the bladder for receiving a supply of gas, the breathing duct having at least one duct outlet for delivering the gas supplied to the breathing duct to the user.

A case for an emergency escape breathing apparatus including a substantially rigid hollow shell defining a cylinder housing portion for retaining a cylinder of breathable gas and a delivery device housing portion for removably housing a delivery device for the breathable gas supplied by the cylinder. An access opening is provided which provides access to the interior of the delivery device housing portion through which a delivery device, such as a hood or mask, can be inserted and removed.
