A system and method for selecting a battery (e.g., a battery selector) is disclosed. The example battery selector includes a plurality of battery factors, a plurality of electrical load factors, a plurality of cycling or crank data, and an output. The output includes a battery selection based on the plurality of battery factors, plurality of vehicle loads, and the plurality of cycling or crank data.

Battery life cycle management is facilited with distinct visual cues of colors and color-coded combinations. The color-codes enable battery types and characteristics over the course of the life of the battery to be determined. The color-codes are based on a color system that indicates a performance rating of the batteries. A system for managing the color-coded batteries selects color-coded batteries for use based upon color, maintaining color based functionality, and color-coded battery indication for destruction of the battery at the end of its life cycle.

A closed-loop system of tracking and managing the recycling and manufacturing a lead acid battery is described herein. The system includes collecting one or more used lead acid batteries, collecting data related to the one or more lead acid batteries, and processing the one or more lead acid batteries. Processing the one or more lead acid batteries includes separating the batteries into lead, polymer, acid, and separator components and isolating the components. The lead and polymer are then recycled, and data is collected related to the recycled lead and recycled polymer. A new lead acid battery is created using the recycled lead and the recycled polymer and provided to a point of sale location.
