A fluid delivery system is provided for delivering fluid to a patient. The system comprises a reservoir for storing the fluid to be delivered to the patient and a fluid discharge device operatively coupled to the reservoir for delivering the fluid from the reservoir to the patient. A controller is configured to operate the fluid discharge device. An input device is in electronic communication with the controller and configured for setting at least one operating parameter of the system. The controller operates the fluid discharge device based on the at least one operating parameter and locks the system after the at least one operating parameter is set such that the at least one operating parameter is unable to be modified. A display is in electronic communication with the controller to at least periodically display a code for resetting the at least one operating parameter. The code is altered at least once during use. The controller is further configured to unlock the system upon receiving the code thereby allowing a user to reset the at least one operating parameter.

Reprogrammable fluid delivery system and method of use

An infusion assembly for delivering therapeutic fluid to plural body sites is provided. The assembly includes a positive displacement pump that discharges the therapeutic fluid. The assembly also includes a flow regulator valve including a valve housing that defines a pressure chamber, an inlet bore that opens into the pressure chamber, and first and second outlet passageways. The first and second outlet passageways extend, respectively, from separate first and second outlet openings to a first catheter and a second catheter through which the therapeutic fluid is directed to the body sites. A controller cyclically regulates the operation of the pump so that, in a first phase of each cycle, the pump is actuated so as to cause a fluid pulse to be presented through the inlet bore of the valve housing to the diaphragm and in a second phase of each cycle, the pump is not actuated.

Infusion assembly that simultaneously delivers therapeutic fluid to plural body sites

An apparatus for use in delivering pain medication to separate locations from a single source of pressurized medication includes a valve housing, a cap, and a flexible diaphragm. The valve housing includes a first end and a second end and an inlet passage. The first end includes first and second outlet orifices. The cap has a closed end and an open end and is removably coupled to the valve housing at the open end. The flexible diaphragm is coupled between the cap and the valve housing and is movable from a closed position to an open position. The flexible diaphragm seals a pressure chamber from the first and second outlet orifices when in the closed position and opens the first and second outlet orifices to the pressure chamber when in the open position.

Two site infusion apparatus

A medication delivery system delivers medication to a patient. The system includes a base and a reservoir disposed about the base for storing the medication. A pump for delivering the medication to the patient is supported by the base. The pump includes a housing having an inlet and an outlet. A first pinch lever is disposed near the inlet and a second pinch lever is disposed near the outlet. Each of the pinch levers move between an open and closed position to control a flow of the medication into the housing. A motor operatively engages the pinch levers to move the pinch levers such that the medication can be delivered to the patient. A biasing device engages at least one of the pinch levers and works in conjunction with the motor to normally bias the at least one pinch lever into the closed position during delivery of the medication to the patient and to maintain the at least one pinch lever in the closed position during a failure of the motor to prevent the inadvertent delivery of the medication to the patient.

Pump assembly for an integrated medication delivery system

A medication delivery system delivers medication to a patient and is suitable for sterilization by a sterilization fluid. The system includes a base and a reservoir disposed about the base for storing the medication. A pump for delivering the medication to the patient is supported by the base. A port extends from the base. The port enables fluids to flow into, within, and from the medication delivery system. The Port comprises an elongated housing having a Proximate end and a distal end with a fluid chamber defined therebetween. A plurality of fluid connectors extend from the elongated housing. A plunger is disposed in the fluid chamber and defines an internal fluid bore therethrough with the internal fluid bore being in selective fluid communication with the fluid connectors as the plunger moves between an off-position, a fill-position for filling the reservoir, and a fluid delivery-position for delivering the fluid to the patient.

Port assembly for an integrated medication delivery system

A medication delivery system delivers medication to a patient and is suitable for sterilization by a sterilization fluid. The system includes a base and a reservoir disposed about the base for storing the medication. A pump for delivering the medication to the patient is supported by the base. The pump includes a housing having an inlet and an outlet. The inlet and outlet alternate between an open and a closed state to deliver the medication. A port extends from the base. The port fluidly communicates with the reservoir and the pump during sterilization to provide access for the fluid to flow into the reservoir and the pump. An actuator is disposed in the base. The actuator operatively engages the inlet and outlet to retain them in the open state during sterilization. As such, the fluid can penetrate into the reservoir, the inlet, the housing, and the outlet to sterilize the system.
