A furniture member may include a seat bottom frame, a seatback frame, and a reclining mechanism. The seatback frame may be movable relative to the seat bottom frame between an upright position and a reclined position. The seatback frame may be coupled to the seat bottom frame by a pair of linkages. The reclining mechanism may include a front support member and a rear support member. The front support member may be attached to the seat bottom frame and the rear support member may be attached to the linkages. The rear support member may be movable relative to the seat bottom frame between a first position when the seatback frame is in the upright position and a second position when the seatback frame is in the reclined position. Movement of the seatback frame between the upright position and the reclined position causes movement of the rear support member.

Reclining chaise mechanism

A furniture handling strap assembly may be used to aid in lifting and carrying a furniture item such as a chair, sofa, or loveseat, for example. The handling strap assembly may include a strap, a bracket, and a fastener. The strap may include a first handling loop and a second handling loop. The first and second handling loops may be flexible. The bracket may be attached to the strap. The fastener may be configured to be received through an aperture in the bracket and may engage the furniture item. A person may insert his/her hand through one or both of the handling loops and gasp a portion of the strap. The person may use his/her other hand to support and stabilize the furniture member as the person lifts the furniture item. Another person may assist in lifting the furniture item using another one of the handling strap assemblies.

Furniture handling strap

A furniture member may include a base frame, a chaise seat bottom frame, and a seatback frame. The chaise seat bottom frame is supported by the base frame and is movable relative to the base frame between first and second positions. The chaise seat bottom frame includes an upper-leg-supporting portion and a lower-leg-supporting portion that are fixed to each other. The lower-leg-supporting portion may support an occupant's lower legs in an extended position relative to the occupant's upper legs. The seatback frame may be supported by the base frame and may be movable relative to the base frame and the chaise seat bottom frame between upright and reclined positions. Movement of the seatback frame from the upright position to the reclined position causes movement of the chaise seat bottom frame upward and forward relative to an aft end of the base frame from the first position to the second position.

Reclining chaise

A furniture member may include a base frame, a seat assembly, a motor, and a circuit board assembly. The seat assembly is supported by the base frame. The motor is operable to drive at least one component of the seat assembly. The circuit board assembly includes a circuit board and an enclosure. The circuit board is housed within the enclosure and is in communication with the motor. The enclosure may include a body, a first clip attached to the body, and a second clip attached to the body. The first and second clips may be resiliently flexible and may removably engage a beam of the seat assembly.

Furniture member having circuit board assembly

A kit of components is provided for manufacturing a plurality of furniture members. The kit may include first and second armrest frames, a mounting cradle, a remote control device, an adaptor insert, and a control panel. The first armrest frame may include a first armrest panel having a first opening formed therein. The mounting cradle may include a first housing received through the first opening and engaging the first armrest panel. The remote control device may be removably received in the mounting cradle. The second armrest frame may include a second armrest panel having a second opening formed therein. The second opening may be identical to the first opening. The adaptor insert may be partially received through the second opening and may engage the second armrest panel. The adaptor insert may include a third opening. The control panel may include a second housing received through the third opening and engaging the adaptor insert.

Modular components for furniture members

A furniture member may include a stationary frame assembly and a seat bottom assembly. The stationary frame assembly may include a stationary base frame and a stationary seatback frame that is fixed relative to the base frame. The seat bottom assembly may be supported by the base frame and movable relative to the base frame and the seatback frame between a first position and a second position. The seatback frame is disposed vertically higher than the base frame and the seat bottom assembly.

Furniture member having flexible seatback

A furniture member may include a stationary frame assembly and a seatback cushion. The stationary frame assembly may include a stationary base frame, a pair of stationary armrest frames and a stationary seatback frame that is fixed relative to the stationary base frame and the stationary armrest frames. The seatback cushion may include upholstery attached to at least one of the armrest frames. The upholstery may include a portion disposed between the at least one of the armrest frames and the seatback cushion. The portion of the upholstery may be expandable to allow movement of the seatback cushion relative to the stationary base frame, the stationary armrest frames and the stationary seatback frame between an upright position and a reclined position.

A furniture member may include a stationary seatback frame, a seat bottom assembly, a legrest mechanism, and a backrest support spring. The seat bottom assembly is movable relative to the seatback frame between a nominal position and a tilt position. The legrest mechanism is movable among a retracted position, a first extended position and a second extended position. A portion of the legrest mechanism contacts the seat bottom assembly when the legrest mechanism is in the first extended position and pushes the seat bottom assembly from the nominal position to the tilt position as the legrest mechanism moves from the first extended position to the second extended position. The backrest support spring includes a first end attached to the seatback frame and a second end attached to the seat bottom assembly and movable with the seat bottom assembly relative to the seatback frame.

A furniture member may include a stationary base frame, a seat bottom frame, a seat bottom cushion, a seatback frame, and a seatback cushion. The base frame may include a forward support, an aft support, and a pair of armrests that extend between the forward support and the aft support. The forward, aft and lateral supports are stationary and fixed relative to each other. The seat bottom frame may be supported by the base frame. An upper end of the seatback frame may be pivotably coupled to the aft support such that the seatback frame is rotatable relative to the aft support and the seat bottom frame between a first position and a second position. A lower end of the seatback cushion has a greater range of motion than an upper end of the seatback cushion when the seatback frame moves between the first and second positions.

Recliner and legrest mechanism for a furniture member

A furniture member may include first and second seat assemblies and an auxiliary assembly. The first seat assembly includes a first seat bottom and a first seatback. The second seat assembly includes a second seat bottom and a second seatback. The second seat assembly may be movable relative to the first seat assembly between a retracted position in which the first seat bottom and the first seatback portion are adjacent to the second seat bottom and the second seatback, and an extended position in which the first seat bottom and the first seatback are spaced apart from the second seat bottom and the second seatback. The auxiliary assembly is movable between a stowed position in which the auxiliary assembly is disposed below the first and second seat assemblies and a deployed position in which at least a portion of the auxiliary assembly is vertically higher than in the stowed position.

Transformable sofa

A furniture member may include a stationary base frame, a seatback frame, a seat bottom frame and a linkage. The seatback frame is supported by the base frame and is pivotable relative to the base frame. The seat bottom frame maybe supported by the base frame and may be movable relative to the seatback frame and the base frame. The linkage is attached to the base frame, the seatback frame, the seat bottom frame and a legrest platform. The linkage is movable between first and second positions. Movement of the linkage toward the first position causes the seatback frame to move toward a fully upright position and simultaneously causes the legrest platform to move toward a stowed position. Movement of the linkage toward the second position causes the seatback frame to move toward a fully reclined position and simultaneously causes the legrest platform to move toward a fully extended position.

A furniture member may include a base frame, a seat bottom and an ottoman assembly. The seat bottom is attached to the base frame and defines a seating surface. The ottoman assembly may include a drive assembly that moves an ottoman platform relative to the seat bottom and the base frame among a retracted position, an extended position and a raised position. The ottoman platform includes a support surface that faces upward and away from a ground surface in the retracted, extended and raised positions. The ottoman platform is disposed beneath the seating surface in the retracted position and moves linearly in a horizontal direction from the retracted position to the extended position. The ottoman platform moves linearly in a vertically upward direction from the extended position to the raised position.
