Systems, apparatuses, and methods are described for replicating data packets at individual compute (e.g., VCMTS) nodes and sending the replicated data packets to a gateway via a tunneling protocol. The gateway determines traffic data related to usage and telemetry based on the replicated data packets. Partial replication of the data packets, for example, replicating the headers only, may further reduce network I/O bandwidth and support higher customer scale. The partially replicated data packets may be used for data related to usage such as whether a user watched or interacted with content such as advertisements and provide basis for decision-making regarding the content.

Packet replication and usage monitoring in a network environment

Methods, systems, and apparatuses are described for variably selecting and managing a quality of service framework within a network. A network data store may be accessed to obtain information indicating current network conditions, network policies, and/or device scripts. This information may be used to determine whether and when to allocate network resources, such as bandwidth, for particular services within the network to implement quality of service based on current network/link conditions.

Variable application of quality of service

Network traffic, such as packets addressed to a user device and/or a location, may be filtered/segregated to ensure that the user device and/or the location receives services for which they are subscribed.

Provided are systems and methods for network management and configuration, Exemplary methods can comprise communicating a first message to a network device. The first message can specify one of a first protocol or a second protocol. Methods can comprise configuring a first logical address for the network device based at least on the first message. Methods can comprise communicating a second message to the network device. The second message can specify one of a first mode, directing the network device to use the first protocol to connect to a network, or a second mode, directing the network device to use the second protocol to connect to the network. Methods can also comprise receiving a notification to release the first logical address from the network device. Methods can further comprise configuring a second logical address for the network device that can be defined according to the second message.
