A method of controlling operation of an implantable blood pump includes attempting to restart a stopped implantable blood pump for a predetermined number of attempts with either power from an internal battery of a controller in communication with the implantable blood pump or transcutaneous energy transfer system (TETS) power in communication with the internal battery and the implantable blood pump. Following the predetermined number of attempts, the method includes pausing attempting to restart the implantable blood pump and begin attempting to recharge the internal battery with TETS power.

Method for pump start in a fully implanted LVAD system when multiple power sources may be present

This disclosure is directed to techniques for detecting and mitigating inaccurate sensing in a medical system. In some examples, one or more sensors of the medical system may include at least one electrode configured to sense an impedance of a portion of a patient's body proximate to the electrode and processing circuitry of the medical system may detect an inaccuracy in the data corresponding to the one or more patient physiological parameters based upon data including at least the sensed impedance of the portion of the patient body; correct at least a portion of the inaccuracy in the data corresponding to the one or more patient physiological parameters; and generate, for display on a display device, output data indicating the inaccuracy in the data corresponding to the one or more patient physiological parameters.

Detection and mitigation of inaccurate sensing by an implanted sensor of a medical system

A method of managing a speed of implantable blood pump. The implantable blood pump is in communication with an internal battery and a transcutaneous energy transfer system (TETS). The method includes starting the pump at a programmed set speed. The speed of the pump is decreased from the programmed set speed to a minimum set speed if either a capacity of the internal battery is less than a predetermined reserve level and TETS power is unavailable, or there is insufficient TETS power to maintain the programmed set speed. The speed of the pump is progressively decreased from the programmed set speed if there is insufficient power to maintain the programmed set speed.

Managing pump speed when power constrained in a fully implanted LVAD system

A sleep apnea and obesity comorbidity treatment system includes a transceiver and a control module. The control module is configured to: receive sensor data, where the sensor data is indicative of a glucose level of a patient and a ketones level of the patient, transmit the sensor data to a remote feedback device, receive feedback information from the remote feedback device based on the sensor data, and where the feedback information provides indications to the patient to maintain or alter a behavior of the patient based on the glucose level and the ketones level, and based on the feedback information, performing an operation to maintain or alter at least one of a diet or physical activity of the patient.

According to one aspect, a method includes transitioning from applying a first external coil current limit to applying a second external coil current limit to limit current of an external coil coupled to the external power transmitter, the transitioning being based on at least one of an intent to enter a free mode of operation of the implanted medical device system, an existence of an alarm condition, and an existence of transcutaneous energy transfer system (TETS) power transfer.

Power source selection for a fully implantable LVAD system

A toy helicopter assembly having a guard that prevents the vertical lift rotors of the toy helicopter from inadvertently contacting any object while spinning. The toy helicopter has a body that includes a fuselage and landing gear. A drive shaft extends upwardly from the fuselage. A least one rotor is connected to the driveshaft. Each rotor is rotated by the driveshaft in a circular path through a predetermined plane of rotation. A plurality of loop structures are attached to the toy helicopter. The loop structures extend along curved paths, therein creating a guarded area within the curved paths. The loop structures are oriented so that at least part of the circular path that is traversed by the rotors extends through the guarded area.

A radio controlled toy vehicle having a single driving wheel. First and second chassis bodies are located on opposite sides of the driving wheel, and the driving wheel and chassis bodies rotatably attached to a primary axle. Support wheels are rotatably attached to the chassis bodies at a location distal to the point of attachment of the chassis bodies to the primary axle. First and second reversible electric motors are drivingly connected to the driving wheel by drive train means. A radio control receiver is attached to one of the chassis bodies, and is adapted to independently actuate the electric motors in a forward or reverse direction in response to control signals sent by a radio control transmitter. When both of the electric motors are operating in the forward or reverse direction, the driving wheel propels the vehicle in that direction. When one electric motor is operating in the forward direction and the other electric motor is operating in the reverse direction, the vehicle will cease being propelled by the driving wheel, and the first and second chassis bodies are forced to rotate in opposite directions about the primary axle, causing the vehicle to be lifted and turned.
