A multilayer blown film having an inner layer, a first outer layer, and a second outer layer, wherein the inner layer comprises an ethylene-based polymer having a MWCDI value greater than 0.9, and a melt index ratio (I10/I2) that meets the following equation: I10/I2&#x2265;7.0&#x2212;1.2&#xd7;log (I2); and the first outer layer and the second outer layer independently comprise a polyethylene composition which comprises the reaction product of ethylene and, optionally, one or more alpha olefin comonomers, wherein the polyethylene composition is characterized by the following properties: (a) a melt index, I, of from 0.1 to 2.0 g/10 min; (b) a density of from 0.910 to 0.930 g/cc; (c) a melt flow ratio, I/I, of from 6.0 to 7.6; and (d) a molecular weight distribution, (Mw/Mn) of from 2.5 to 4.0.

The instant invention provides nonwoven fabrics and staple or binder fibers prepared from an ethylene-based polymer having a Comonomer Distribution Constant in the range of from greater than from 100 to 400, a vinyl unsaturation of less than 0.1 vinyls per one thousand carbon atoms present in the backbone of the ethylene-based polymer composition; a zero shear viscosity ratio (ZSVR) in the range from 1 to less than 2; a density in the range of 0.930 to 0.970 g/cm3, a melt index (12) in the range of from 15 to 30 or from 10 to 50 g/10 minutes, a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) in the range of from 2 to 3.5, and a molecular weight distribution (Mz/Mw) in the range of from less than 2.

Spunbond nonwoven fabrics

A linear low density polyethylene composition suitable for injection molding applications comprising less than or equal to 100 percent by weight of the units derived from ethylene, less than 35 percent by weight of units derived from one or more &#x3b1;-olefin comonomers, and characterized by its density, molecular weight distribution (M/M), a melt index (I), a molecular weight distribution (M/M), vinyl unsaturation, and zero shear viscosity ratio (ZSVR). The linear low density polyethylene composition exhibits low hexane extractable levels.

Polyolefin compositions and uses thereof

The instant invention provides a polyethylene blend composition having reduced chill roll buildup during extrusion process, and films and coating layers made therefrom. The polyethylene blend composition according to the present invention provide reduced chill roll buildups during extrusion process, and comprises: (a) from 60 to 95 percent by weight of a linear polyethylene composition comprising less than or equal to 100 percent by weight of the units derived from ethylene, and less than 15 percent by weight of units derived from one or more &#x3b1;-olefin comonomers; wherein said linear polyethylene composition has a density in the range of from 0.917 to 0.975 g/cm, a molecular weight distribution (M/M) in the range of from 1.70 to 3.62, a melt index (I) in the range of from 2 to 50 g/10 minutes, and a vinyl unsaturation in the range of from less than 0.06 vinyls per one thousand carbon atoms present in the linear polyethylene composition; and (b) from 5 to 40 percent by weight of a low density polyethylene composition (LDPE) having a density in the range of from 0.915 to 0.930 g/cm, and a melt index (I) in the range of from 0.4 to 10; wherein the polyethylene blend composition has a density in the range of 0.917 to 0.960 g/cmand a melt index (I) in the range of from 2 to 30 g/10 minutes.

The instant invention provides a polyethylene blend composition having reduced chill roll buildup during extrusion process, and films and coating layers made therefrom. The polyethylene blend composition according to the present invention provide reduced chill roll buildups during extrusion process, and comprises: (a) from 60 to 95 percent by weight of a linear polyethylene composition comprising less than or equal to 100 percent by weight of the units derived from ethylene, and less than 15 percent by weight of units derived from one or more &#x3b1;-olefin comonomers; wherein said linear polyethylene composition has a density in the range of from 0.917 to 0.975 g/cm, a molecular weight distribution (M/M) in the range of from 1.70 to 3.62, a melt index (I2) in the range of from 2 to 50 g/10 minutes, and a vinyl unsaturation in the range of from less than 0.06 vinyls per one thousand carbon atoms present in the linear polyethylene composition; and (b) from 5 to 40 percent by weight of a low density polyethylene composition (LDPE) having a density in the range of from 0.915 to 0.930 g/cm, and a melt index (I) in the range of from 0.4 to 10; wherein the polyethylene blend composition has a density in the range of 0.917 to 0.960 g/cmand a melt index (I) in the range of from 2 to 30 g/10 minutes.

Propylene impact copolymers (ICPs) are provided which comprise: (a) a matrix phase which comprises from 60 to 95 weight % of a polypropylene polymer containing from 0 to 6 mole % of units derived from one or more alpha-olefins other than propylene, and (b) a dispersed phase which comprises from 5 to 40 weight % of a copolymer derived from a first comonomer which can be either propylene or ethylene together with a second alpha-olefin comonomer. The ICP is further characterized by having a beta/alpha ratio less than or equal to 1.1. The ICPs of the present invention are particularly well suited for applications requiring clear, tough polymers such as thin walled injection molded articles for frozen food packaging applications.

Propylene impact copolymers having good optical properties

The invention is a process for the preparation of article comprising placing a film on each inner surface of each part of a two part mold; placing an article in the mold with film located between the surface of the mold and the article such that there is a small space between the article and the surface of the mold; closing the mold about the article; injecting between the film and the article an expandable plastic material under conditions that the article is coated with the expandable material and the expandable material does not expand; removing the plastic article with the expandable material coated thereon with the two films attached to the expandable plastic material. In another embodiment the invention is an article comprising a shaped plastic article; an expandable material coated in the shaped plastic article; and a film covering the material coated shaped plastic article. In another embodiment the invention is a method of reinforcing a structural member which comprises inserting an article according to this invention into a cavity of the structural member and heating the structural member and the article to a temperature at which the expandable plastic material expands and the film or the expandable material bonds to the inner surface of the structural member so as to fix the location of the article in the structural member.
