A security system including a sensor communication interface configured to communicate with a plurality of sensors, an output interface, and at least one processor in communication with the communication interface. The at least one processor is configured to: receive, via the sensor communication interface, sensor data from one or more of the plurality of sensors; determine, from a plurality of tiers, a respective tier associated with the sensor data; and determine, based on the sensor data and the respective tier, whether to change a state of the security system. The at least one processor is further configured to: in response to determining to change the state of the security system, change the state of the security system; and determine, based on the changed state of the security system, whether to generate an output via the output interface.

Security system using tiered analysis

Described are techniques that use an autonomous mobile unmanned machine that includes at least one sensor device suitable to verify an alarm condition. Upon assertion of an alarm condition message asserted as a result of a potential alarm condition existing within a facility, the machine receives a location of the alarm condition and is programmed with a route from a current location of the autonomous mobile unmanned machine to the location of the alarm condition. The at least one sensor device carried by the autonomous mobile unmanned machine collects sensor data at least at the location of the alarm condition and the machine sends to a system a message pertaining to status of the alarm condition.

Building bots interfacing with intrusion detection systems

A network data aggregation system and method for connected building management systems are disclosed. The aggregation system assesses network connectivity for the building management system. For this purpose, the aggregation system includes building management control panels including modems for reporting to monitoring stations, and a customer management server (CMS). The control panels collect network connectivity information of the modems, and the CMS receives the network connectivity information. In one example, the CMS analyzes the network connectivity information to identify issues in service provider networks that provide connections between the modems of the building management control panels and the service provider networks.

Network data aggregation system and method for building management systems

A method and system architecture for automation and alarm systems is provided. The system architecture is hierarchically organized, allowing devices to process system data differently at different levels of the hierarchy. Moreover, different devices at the same level of the hierarchy may employ different or custom configurations, allowing for context-dependent algorithms to be deployed in the system. The configuration of each device in the system is defined by a set of rules, filters, thresholds, and other criteria, which are pushed to a device from other devices in the hierarchy. Accordingly, the configuration of each device is dynamically updated as information is learned about the context in which the device is deployed, and as more advanced algorithms and configurations are developed.

Method and apparatus for determining maintenance needs and validating the installation of an alarm system

A system and method are disclosed for transferring security event data over one of a plurality of cellular networks of different cellular carrier. A minimum acceptable signal quality for a connection between a radio transceiver and a cellular network is set. The signal quality for a connection between the radio transceiver and each of a plurality of cellular network receivers for the different cellular carriers is then determined. The radio transceiver is connected to the cellular network receiver for the cellular carrier exhibiting the greatest signal quality above the minimum acceptable signal quality. If this connection fails or is lost, the radio transceiver is connected to the cellular network receiver for an alternate cellular carrier exhibiting the next greatest acceptable signal quality above the minimum acceptable signal quality. Security event data is then transmitted from the radio transceiver to a remote central monitoring facility over the established cellular connection.

System and method for cellular connection selection

An alarm system includes two subsystems: a security subsystem that performs critical alarm condition monitoring and reporting; and an auxiliary subsystem that allows execution of other non-critical software components. The security subsystem may monitor the performance of the auxiliary subsystem, and maintain the performance by resetting and/or otherwise controlling the execution of software and use of hardware at the auxiliary subsystem, providing increased overall reliability of the security system, without compromising its ability to monitor security conditions at an associated premises.
