A vehicle roof base frame is provided, which can be placed on top of an edge area of a vehicle roof structure delimiting a roof opening, having two longitudinal legs and a transverse leg connecting the two longitudinal legs to each other, the legs being realized as separate parts. A seal is arranged between each of the longitudinal legs and the transverse leg when in an assembly position in which the legs are firmly connected to each other.

A vehicle roof having a roof structure with a roof opening, which, by a roof opening mechanism, can be closed or at least partially uncovered as desired, said roof opening mechanism being designed as an interchangeable insert. Modular roof assemblies for vehicles

A convertible top for a vehicle includes a convertible top assembly having a pivotally interconnected link arrangement between a forward assembly and an aft assembly. The forward assembly is configured to pivotally move relative to the vehicle framework and the aft assembly from a closed position to a first retracted position. The aft assembly is configured to pivotally move relative to the vehicle framework and the forward assembly from the first retracted position to a lowered storage position. Methods for opening the convertible top assembly are also provided.

A top for a convertible vehicle having at least one roof element, which is displaceable in relation to a vertical longitudinal center plane of the roof, is guided slidably in the longitudinal direction of the roof on both sides at one guide rail, respectively, said guide rail being arranged at a respective lateral roof beam, a rear roof cassette being displaceable between an erected position for adjoining, in the rear, to the lateral roof beams in the longitudinal direction of the roof and a storage position that is lowered with respect to the former position and the roof cassette accommodating the roof element in the uncovering position thereof, as well as a sealing arrangement that is arranged in the region of the roof opening and seals a vehicle interior off with respect to a vehicle environment in the closed position of the roof element.

Assemblies and methods to articulate a movable surface such as a window covering an opening of a vehicle from closed to open positions using a pivoting armature are provided. An assembly includes a backlite pane pivotably attached about an axis fixed with respect to the vehicle; at least one lever assembly pivotably connected to the backlite pane to permit articulating movement of the backlite pane; and a motive force connected to a driveshaft connected to the at least one lever assembly such that rotation of the driveshaft in response to the motive force causes movement of the at least one lever assembly and articulation of the backlite pane.

A modular roof assembly includes a pair of side rails configured for attachment to longitudinal roll bar members of a vehicle frame by at least one fastener. The side rails extend a direction along a length of the vehicle frame and include at least one guideway to slidably receive transverse tensioning bows and a track car for a soft top and include at least one attachment member adapted to latchably receive at least one hard top panel.

A top for a convertible vehicle, including a roof frame extending from a rear region of the convertible vehicle as far as a windshield arranged between A-pillars of the convertible vehicle in a closed state of the top. The roof frame includes at least one rear frame piece, a central frame piece connected in an articulated manner to the rear frame piece, and a front frame piece. The top also includes a front element and a cover of the top fixed to the front element. The front frame piece is connected in an articulated manner directly to the central frame piece, and the front element is connected pivotably with respect to the front frame piece to the front frame piece.
