A device acquires first sense data representing first electrical signals sensed from a first subset of a plurality of sensors of a touch surface. The device acquires second sense data representing second electrical signals sensed from a second subset of the plurality of sensors. The device detects a first set of one or more touches based on the first sense data and the second sense data. After the acquiring of the first sense data, the device acquires third sense data representing third electrical signals sensed from the first subset of the plurality of sensors; and detects a second set of one or more touches at the touch surface based on the second sense data and the third sense data.

A method of operating a touch-sensing surface may include determining a presence of at least one conductive object at the touch-sensing surface by performing a search measurement of a first set of sensor elements of the touch-sensing surface, and in response to determining the presence of the at least one conductive object, determining a location of the at least one conductive object by performing a tracking measurement of a second set of sensor elements of the touch-sensing surface.

The touch-sensor buttons may be used individually for button-activation sensing, and the touch-sensor buttons may be used collectively for proximity detection. The touch-sensor buttons and a ground conductor that surrounds the touch-sensor buttons may also be collectively used for proximity detection. The apparatus may include a processing device, and a plurality of sensor elements that are individually coupled in a first mode for button-activation sensing and collectively coupled in a second mode for proximity sensing.

Integrated button activation sensing and proximity sensing

A network interface to transport a continuous datastream over a frame-based transport network. The network interface includes a data input, an egress buffer circuit, a phase locked loop, and a data output. The data input receives frames carrying the continuous datastream from the frame-based transport network. The egress buffer circuit is coupled to buffer the continuous datastream and to generate a feedback signal based at least in part on a fill-level of the egress buffer. The phase locked loop is coupled to receive the feedback signal from the egress buffer and to recover a clock signal from the continuous datastream. The data output is coupled to output the data of the continuous datastream from the egress buffer circuit based on the clock signal.

A method and an apparatus are described for sensing of a multi-state signal. An embodiment of a method includes driving a digital input line with a signal, the signal alternating between a first state and a second state. The method further includes sensing one or more values of the digital input line, and determining a state of the digital input line based on the sensed values.
