Systems and methods for enabling communications and feedback with users of virtual reality user interfaces are described. The virtual reality user interface may include a background model, a plurality of cells and subcells, and an interaction area. The interaction area may be positioned at a virtual location of the user, and the interaction area may include a border around its periphery. Responsive to various user inputs or actions, or device or system states or conditions, visual characteristics of the interaction area and border may be selected and rendered to provide communications and feedback to a user. In addition, the interaction area and border may receive voice inputs provided by users. Accordingly, the interaction area and border may provide communications and feedback with users of virtual reality user interfaces.

Systems and methods to rapidly create, view, and modify three-dimensional experiences may include a two-dimensional content editing device and application and a three-dimensional experience viewing device and application. Using the two-dimensional content editing application, two-dimensional objects may be created, and properties of the two-dimensional objects may be defined. Using the three-dimensional experience viewing application, the two-dimensional objects may be rendered within a three-dimensional environment based on the defined properties. In this manner, three-dimensional experiences may be quickly created, viewed, modified, reviewed, and published without the need for specialized tools, training, or experience in three-dimensional modeling or programming.

Disclosed are various embodiments for customizing an item search and browsing experience based on a delivery speed preference. Multiple delivery speed options are generated for a client device, and a listing of the delivery speed options are sent to the client device. A user selection of a particular delivery speed option is then received from the client device. An item search criterion is received from the client device. A listing of items selected from an electronic item database is generated based at least in part on the item search criterion and item availability via the particular delivery speed option. Data encoding the listing of items is sent to the client device for rendering on a display.

Context information for a current message includes reply messages, parent messages, and metadata representations. Message representations are also associated with visual depth indicators that are independent of the text of the messages. Users may navigate displays of hierarchical message data using different navigational inputs. For example, more information may be requested for messages, without selecting a new message for viewing as a focal message, using swipes across portions of the display dedicated to displaying the messages. A limited number of messages for a requested list of messages is initially retrieved and displayed, and a mechanism for viewing more messages from the list is provided. Historical usage of the mechanism is recorded and the number of messages to be displayed for the list of messages is adjusted based on the historical usage data.
