A refrigerator is provided having at least one internal refrigerated compartment in which a plurality of refrigeration zones are provided, wherein an environment in each refrigeration zone may be independently controlled using a user interface configured to receive a zone selection input from a user indicating one of the plurality of refrigeration zones in which the user desires to adjust the environment; a plurality of lights provided in the internal refrigerated compartment and disposed proximate to each of the plurality of refrigeration zones, wherein groups of the plurality of lights may be separately controlled for visually identifying each of the refrigeration zones; and a controller configured to receive a zone selection input from the user interface, identify a group of the plurality of lights that are disposed proximate the selected refrigeration zone, and control the identified group of the plurality of lights to visually confirm the selected refrigeration zone.

A refrigerator includes a refrigerated compartment, at least one door that selectively seals the refrigerated compartment and a cold plate shelf assembly mounted in the refrigerated compartment. The shelf assembly includes a front trim, a rear trim and a first plate directly coupled to the front trim and the rear trim. A second plate extends from the front trim to the rear trim, the second plate being positioned so that a food item supported on the shelf assembly contacts the second plate. The second plate is made from a material having a higher thermal conductivity than glass. In one arrangement, the refrigerator further includes an air duct having an air vent. Air exiting the air duct through the air vent either impinges on and travels across the second plate or enters an interior of the shelf assembly.

A shelf adjustment mechanism for an appliance includes a plurality of support surfaces coupled to a shelf bracket. The shelf bracket is operable between a securing position and a recessed position. A bracket module rotationally receives the shelf bracket. The securing position of the shelf bracket is defined by a substantially horizontal orientation of the support surfaces with respect to the bracket module. An angled biasing surface is defined on the shelf bracket. The biasing surface is configured to engage a shelf as the shelf is moved vertically along the angled biasing surface. Engagement of the shelf with the angled biasing surface selectively operates the shelf bracket from the securing position to a recessed position.

A refrigerated appliance having a cabinet defining at least one interior compartment, the cabinet having a metal inner liner, a framed thermal break member having four corner joinery elements coupled to four side thermal breaks, and a cabinet face plate. The refrigerated appliance also has a door coupled to the cabinet where the door has a framed profile having four corner joints coupled to four side profiles, an inner panel, two or more ladders, a gasket, and an outer door panel. The framed thermal break member is coupled to the metal liner and the cabinet face plate. The framed profile is coupled to the inner panel, two or more ladders, the gasket, and the outer door panel.
