A method of controlling flow in a tubular including developing a pressure in the tubular with an electric submersible pump (ESP), directing a flow of fluid through a flow control device arranged on the tubular downhole of the ESP in response to the pressure, sensing a parameter of the flow of fluid, and adjusting, in real time, a flow parameter of the flow control device with a coil tubing in response to the parameter of the fluid.

Apparatus and methods for locating a particular location in a wellbore for performing a wellbore operation

An apparatus for use in a wellbore is disclosed that in one non-limiting embodiment includes a housing including a first location having a first inside dimension and a second location having a second inside dimension that is larger than the first inside dimension, and a seal assembly placed with a sliding fit at the first location, wherein the seal assembly includes a seal body and an inverted seal along an inside of the seal body and wherein the seal assembly is movable from the first location to the second location and expandable into the second location when the seal assembly is positioned at the second location.

Wellbore completion apparatus and methods utilizing expandable inverted seals

A system, tool and method of providing the tool downhole is disclosed. The tool is conveyed downhole on a tool string. The tool includes a first member and a second member locked in a first configuration by a locking member. The locking member is dissolvable upon introduction of a dissolving agent to the locking member. Dissolving the locking member allows motion between the second member and the first member.

Utilizing dissolvable metal for activating expansion and contraction joints

A seal assembly includes a first tubular having a sealing surface, and a seal element run with the first tubular and displaced from the surface. The seal element initially having a radial dimension that forms a radially innermost or outermost sealing dimension of the first tubular for enabling the first tubular to be sealed with a second tubular radially disposed with the first tubular. A mechanism is triggerable by axial movement for reconfiguring the radial dimension of the seal element. The sealing surface of the first tubular operatively forming the radially innermost or outermost sealing dimension of the first tubular when the radial dimension of the seal element has been reconfigured for enabling the sealing surface of the first tubular to receive a second seal element. The seal element is axially compressed and released to change the radial dimension of the seal element.

A completion method involves a telescoping joint in the completion string that needs to be locked when pumping fluid through it as part of the completion method. The joint is locked with two locks and one is thermally activated using a shape memory locking member to handle the stresses from component contraction. The setting of the thermally actuated lock occurs when the temperature is lowered during pumping. At other times the temperature of well fluid defeats the thermal lock leaving a non-thermal lock actuated until such time that the telescoping joint can be used in production. The non-thermal lock is defeated so allow normal telescoping action during production. The non-thermal lock is defeated with string manipulation or pressure or other ways depending on its design.

A method of deploying a multi-zone completion assembly in a wellbore is disclosed. The method includes: placing an outer assembly below a surface location, wherein the outer assembly includes an activation device. The method further includes placing an inner assembly in the outer assembly, the inner assembly including a lower opening tool spaced from an upper opening tool. The method further includes activating the lower opening tool using the activation device The method further includes activating the upper opening tool independent of the lower opening tool using the activation device.

In one aspect an apparatus for use in a wellbore is disclosed that in one non-limiting embodiment includes a completion assembly that contains a filter section having a tubular with a plurality of through holes filled with a filter material for restricting flow of solid particles through the holes for placement of the filter section across from a zone along the wellbore, a sensor inside the tubular for providing information about a parameter of interest during treatment of and/or production from the zone into the tubular, and a first circuit coupled to the sensor that transmits wireless signals corresponding to measurements made by the sensor to a second circuit that transmits the received signals to the surface.

In one aspect, an apparatus for selectively treating a plurality of zones around wellbore is disclosed that in one non-limiting embodiment includes an outer string for placement in the wellbore, the outer string including a packer above a flow port corresponding to each zone, wherein each packer is configured to be set independently and the flow port is configured to supply a treatment fluid to its corresponding zone when such flow port is open, an activation device coupled to each packer, wherein each such activation device is configured to be independently activated to set its corresponding isolation packer, and an inner string for placement in the outer string, the inner string including a frac port for supplying a fluid under pressure to each flow port.

Apparatus and methods for selectively treating production zones

In one aspect, a seal apparatus for use with a mandrel is disclosed that in one non-limiting embodiment contains a seal housing disposed about the mandrel, wherein the seal housing is spaced apart from the mandrel to form a seal gap, a seal member disposed between the seal housing and the mandrel, wherein the seal member is bonded to the seal housing and the seal member is formed from a first material, and a seal support disposed between the seal housing and the mandrel, wherein the seal support is formed from a second material, wherein the second material is stiffer than the first material, and the seal support extends across the seal gap in response to an energizing force applied to the seal support.

In one aspect, an apparatus for use in a wellbore is disclosed that in one non-limiting embodiment contains an outer assembly that includes an isolation packer corresponding to each of a plurality of zones along the wellbore, wherein each isolation packer is configured to be set in the wellbore, a release module associated with each isolation packer to release its associated isolation packer after such isolation packer has been set in the wellbore, and a disconnect module below each isolation packer that is armed using a first force and activated using a second force.
