A refrigerant leak detection system includes a leak sensor module for sensing leaked refrigerant and a universal connector. The universal connector is configured as a junction for connecting an AC voltage source with the leak sensor module and an evaporator fan of a refrigerated case. The universal connector is configured to be operable for selectively supplying AC voltage from the AC voltage source to the evaporator fan, or to the leak sensor module, or to both the evaporator fan and the leak sensor module. When the leak sensor module is activated to conduct leak testing, the AC voltage from the AC voltage source to the evaporator fan is interrupted by the universal connector to thereby turn OFF the evaporator fan and facilitate detection of any leaked refrigerant.

Retrofit for fan control in refrigerated cases

A refrigerated food container system includes a container defining an inner volume and a thermoelectric module arranged in thermal contact with at least one surface of the container. The thermoelectric module includes a first thermoelectric cooling device and a second thermoelectric cooling device in thermal contact with the first thermoelectric cooling device. A control module is configured to provide a first voltage to the first thermoelectric cooling device and provide a second voltage to the second thermoelectric cooling device.

Systems and methods for purging lubricant from a first compressor to a second compressor are provided. A control module receives a lubricant purge command, shuts the second compressor to an OFF-mode while the first compressor remains in the ON-mode, restricts working fluid from an outlet of the second compressor from flowing into the first compressor and allows compressed working fluid discharged from an outlet of the first compressor to flow into the inlet of the second compressor such that lubricant in the second compressor flows into the first compressor.

According to the invention, a finger-operated switch for activating and operating an ultrasonic surgical handpiece is provided. The power output of the surgical handpiece is responsive and proportional to the pressure applied to the finger-operated switch. The finger-operated switch includes, but not limited to, force sensitive resistors whose resistance is proportional to the force applied by the finger of the human operator of the surgical handpiece, force sensitive capacitors whose capacitance is proportional to the pressure, deflection or compression of the insulation layer between two electrodes or is proportional to the spacing between the two conductive layers, strain gauges mounted underneath or integral to the housing of the surgical handpiece such that the pressure applied thereto results in an output change in the strain gauges, magnets or ferromagnets encased or embedded in an elastomer with a sensor inside the surgical handpiece that detects the field strength of the magnet and monitors changes relative to the force applied to the handpiece housing, and piezo film or piezo ceramic whose charge or voltage is proportional to the force applied.
