The present invention relates to the production of sugar hydrolysates from cellulosic material. The method may be used e.g. for producing fermentable sugars for the production of bioethanol from lignocellulosic material. Cellulolytic enzymes and their production by recombinant technology is described, as well as uses of the enzymes and enzyme preparations.

Treatment of cellulosic material and enzymes useful therein

The present invention is related to a fungal serine protease enzyme, which comprises an amino acid sequence of the mature Fe_RF6318 enzyme having an amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 15. The serine protease is obtainable from, more preferably from the deposited strain CBS 119568. Also disclosed are nucleic acid sequences encoding said protease, such as plasmid pALK2521 comprising the nucleotide sequence SEQ ID NO:9 deposited inRF7664 under accession number DSM 22171 and plasmid pALK2529 comprising the full-length gene SEQ ID NO: 10 deposited inRF7800 under accession number DSM 22172. Said protease is useful as an enzyme preparation applicable in detergent compositions and for treating fibers, for treating wool, for treating hair, for treating leather, for treating food or feed, or for any applications involving modification, degradation or removal of proteinaceous material.

Use of pectinolytic enzymes for the treatment of fruit and vegetable mash and enzyme sequences therefor

Novel fungal endoglucanases with substantial performance at low temperatures are disclosed. The endoglucanases are conveniently produced by recombinant technology, and means for their production are described. The endoglucanases are used for treating cellulosic material, especially in textile industry, e.g. in biofinishing or biostoning. They may also be used in detergents, in animal feed and/or in pulp and paper industry or bioethanol production.

Fungal protease and use thereof

The present invention provides novel cellulase fusion proteins, preparations of cellulase fusion proteins and compositions of cellulase fusion proteins. The present invention further provides cellulase expression vectors, host cells expressing cellulase and methods for preparing such vectors and cells. Uses of cellulases, cellulase preparations and cellulase compositions in the textile, detergent, pulp and paper industries are also provided.

The present invention relates to a novel laccase enzyme obtainable from the strains of genus. The invention relates also to the nucleic acid sequence encoding the enzyme, a recombinant host into which the nucleic acid sequence has been introduced and a method for the production of the enzyme in a recombinant host. The enzyme of the invention is suitable for several applications, in particular for increasing the lightness of denim.

Laccase enzyme and use thereof

The present invention relates to novel laccase enzymes obtainable from the strains of the genusor from the strains of the genus. The invention relates also to nucleic acid sequences encoding the enzymes, recombinant hosts into which the nucleic acid sequences have been introduced and to methods for the production of the enzymes in recombinant hosts. The enzymes of the invention are suitable for several applications, for example for treating denim and for strain removal.

Laccase enzymes and their uses

Cellulase fusion proteins comprising an endoglucanase core region and a heterologous cellulose binding domain are described. The fusion proteins may be produced by recombinant techniques using appropriate polynucleotides, expressing vectors and host cells. The fusion proteins and enzyme preparations thereof are useful in treating cellulosic material, such as textile material, and they are particularly useful in biostoning denim or in biofinishing fabrics and garments. In addition the fusion proteins may be used in pulp and paper industry, oil extraction from plants, detergent compositions, or for improving the quality of animal feed.

Enzyme fusion proteins and their use

The invention is related to a method and DNA constructs for obtaining in a filamentous fungus host a higher production level of a carbohydrate degrading (CD) enzyme, having in its original state a catalytic module (CAT) and a carbohydrate binding module (CBM) separated by a linker region. The DNA construct comprising a truncated actinomycetes, preferably(NJ) derived DNA sequence encoding a truncated form of the CD enzyme, for example Nf Xyn11A, Nf Xyn10A, and is introduced into a filamentous fungal host. Said CD enzyme contains the catalytically active region of CAT but lacks part or all of the CBM, or all of the CBM and part or all of the linker region and is expressed and secreted under the control of regulatory sequences comprising at least a signal sequence, but also promoters, terminators and DNA sequences encoding a secretable carrier protein or domains thereof, preferably originating from filamentous fungi are included. The production level obtained with DNA sequence having the shortened DNA sequence encoding the truncated form of the CD enzyme is higher than the production level obtained with DNA construct encoding the corresponding full length CD enzyme.
