Determination is made of the conditions on the radio-link when selecting the optimal size of a transmission window within which to transmit packets of data. And, retransmission time-out values are also selected responsive to the indications of the radio-link conditions.

A method, apparatus, and system are disclosed for creating a conferencing access logic. The logic is for allowing access to a conference in an internet protocol (IP) network. The invention entails establishing an allow list of allowed users, setting up a default policy applicable to unlisted users, matching listed users with corresponding conference rights, and assigning a uniform resource identifier (URI) to the access logic. The URI is for identifying and editing elements of the access logic, including the allow list, the default policy, and the conference rights.

The invention relates to a method for managing a packet switched, centralized conference call between a plurality of terminals. In order to enable an enhancement of the user comfort, it is proposed that the method comprises at a conference call serverreceiving data packets from all terminals. Based on these data packets, then at least one terminalcurrently providing voice data is determined. In a next step, the data received in the data packets is mixed, and the mixed data is inserted into new data packets together with at least one identifier associated to one of the terminalswhich were determined to provide voice data, such that the at least one identifier can be distinguished from any other information in the data packets. Managing a packet switched conference call

A system, apparatus and method for establishing circuit-switched (CS) communications in packet-switched (PS) multimedia networks such as IMS, and providing services via the PS networks to CS domain users. A dialog is established between terminals through the PS multimedia network. A service is provided to at least one of the terminals by way of the dialog. CS bearer information, including an indication that a communication flow is requested via a CS network, is communicated between the terminals by way of the dialog. A communication flow via the CS network is effected between the terminals as directed by the CS bearer information. IMS or other PS multimedia network services can thus be provided to users otherwise communicating via the CS-domain.

System, apparatus, and method for establishing circuit-switched communications via packet-switched network signaling

A mechanism for providing a connection from an IP-based network to a circuit-switched network, such as a GSM network is disclosed. A temporary routing number for the circuit-switched network, such as an E.164 number, is delivered to a user terminal, and a circuit-switched call leg is established from the user terminal to the IP-based network using the routing number. Thereby, IMS-services are provided for end users which are located in the radio access network not having sufficient QoS required for voice over IP. In the example of a conference call service, a request for a conference call may forwarded via a data channel or data path to an application server which provides that conference call service. The application server then selects a conference routing number and returns the routing number to the conference host terminal via the data channel. Using the received conference routing number, the conference host terminal can then set up a circuit-switched connection as a call leg of the conference call.

IP-based services for circuit-switched networks

The aspects of invention relates to determining a bit rate in a communication device, the communication device including a protocol stack for transferring information to a second communication device, the protocol stack including a protocol layer, the protocol layer providing a logical channel for transferring first information through the protocol layer. According to the method, the first information is transferred through the protocol layer via the logical channel and the bit rate in the logical channel is determined on the basis of second information obtainable from the protocol layer. The invention also relates to a method of determining a bit rate when the communication device is receiving information as well as corresponding transmitting and receiving communication devices.

Determination of a bit rate

A mobile terminal comprises a registering functionality which is adapted to register terminal-based information about one or more missed call events which are not accepted by a user. Network-based information about one or more missed call events or voice messages registered by a PLMN to which the mobile terminal is subscribed is received. The network-based information is combined with the terminal-based information such that the mobile terminal is able to present the combined information to a user. Moreover, a method is provided for registering information about missed call events in a PLMN comprising at least an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) which is responsible for packet data services. An incoming call received by the IMS from a calling terminal originally destined to a called mobile terminal is redirected in accordance with Filter Criteria (FC) to the IMS and information about a missed call event in accordance with the incoming call is registered by the IMS.

When the terminal (MS) switches to the suspend state in the packet-switched service to use a circuit-switched service, a predetermined first packet () is transmitted from the terminal (MS) to the other peer () to prevent transmission of packets from the other peer () to said terminal (MS) during the suspend state.
