Provided herein is a hot melt pressure sensitive adhesive comprising one or more styrene block copolymers, a tackifier, and polyisobutylene plasticizer, wherein the adhesive contains less than 1 wt % of a plasticizer oil. The adhesive can be used in a label construction along with a facestock such as a polyethylene facestock, wherein the swelling factor of the facestock is reduced as compared to the swelling factor of the facestock in labels that include a plasticizer oil. Also provided are methods for producing and using the hot melt adhesive, and articles labeled with the hot melt adhesive.

Non-swelling hot melt adhesive

Hot melt adhesives comprising (i) styrene butadiene copolymer, (ii) olefin block copolymer (OBC), and (iii) water white hydrogenated hydrocarbon resin are described. The adhesives exhibit high optical clarity and are relatively clear over a wide range of temperatures. The adhesives also exhibit good adhesion at cold temperatures. Also described are laminates of the adhesive with polymeric films, such as adhesive labels that can be used in labeling containers. In addition, various goods such as containers labeled using the adhesives are described.

Clear hot melt adhesives

A pressure sensitive hot melt adhesive is provided including at least one olefin block copolymer, a hydrogenated hydrocarbon tackifier, and a plasticizer. The adhesive is free from any oil containing constituents and the pressure sensitive label with the adhesive exhibits desired adhesion performance in low temperature as well as in normal temperature for a host of different substrates. The adhesive also resistant to yellowing, water-whitening and is non-swelling. The adhesive and the label enables recycling in recycling streams when the face material and/or substrate being labeled is also of olefin based material.
